I know I'll be doing something for Thanksgrieving, but I don't know what, likely one of those whirlwind 5-stops-all-over-town things.
I think I'm being set up to be somewhere with people who I really don't approve of, and will have to try to fake being friendly with.
I'd RATHER stay home and have some cereal.
But then there'd be hard feelings from several people...

We got the answer from the silicon co-manufacturers, the PCI-E experts in Isreal, the PCI-E experts in Oregon, and the product delivery team. They all said "fuck that test, don't do it". I myself told you that IF (and that's a big fucking IF) we could do it, it wasn't really necessary per the intent of the spec, it wasn't our job to test it (protocol layer, not physical), our customers don't fucking care, and no other group is testing this new specification checklist item on any of the silicon we have. IF we could fucking test it- it would take a week of brain storming at a minimum with only a 30% chance of being able to do this anyway. A week that we do not have as we are already over-commited.
