MDF! Do come by. Be sure to introduce yourself thoroughly. Sometimes I am frazzled on playa due to sleep dep and fixing many things and so it takes a thorough introduction to get my recognition to click in. I look forward to meeting you.

Jovankat, I can weld Torch, Stick, Mig and Tig. I use Mig on Playa because it is a cleaner process but I used to bring out my Sick/Tig setup. The class you linked seems like a good fit for an introduction. Mig is so easy to do that I recommend learning Torch and Stick welding first to get some fundamentals down so that one has a good understanding of the welding process.
I will have 2 or 3 custom made warming stoves at camp and they are my form of artwork. Stop by and I will show them off to you and we can talk welding.

Simon, you said it in a post I agree with 100% and more.

There can BE only one playa. It belongs to ALL of us and NONE of us. The playa does not give respect, though the playa slowly relinquishes its secrets to those who GIVE A DAMN. Those who GIVE A DAMN, discover the truth.

Does it work for the betterment of the community?

Can we share it?

Can we learn to be diverse and tolerant again?

WE MUST.

But Plug n Play camps have no clue on sharing, diversity, and definitely not the betterment of the community. They are the new Drainbows. I noticed that the website promoting the 747 is still up and running..... How is that going? Is the 747 coming to the playa this year, or is the "Big Imagination" just that?
The website offers no updates other than to claim the 747 is going to be on the playa in 2015. What do you want to bet? I will bet you a ride on the Queen Mary.

And I tried to find out if Ron Conway, the man helping rent out SF http://pando.com/2015/05/10/while-airbn ... f-sharing/, is in anyway related to the Chipster, the guy helping rent out BRC. Same m.o., do-gooders doing very good for themselves and not so well for their lessers, both are self-made success stories..... Though what a coincidence if they are related, almost as if it was all handed to them both. Trying to see if they are related was interesting. No mention of where either came from, parents? Who knows? That might betray the narrative of self-made success at a young age. I can find a "Bio" on-line, but both these cats apparently started life in their 20s because there is no mention of childhood or early life breaks mentioned for either. What kind of bio makes no mention of childhood, family or ancestry? Tech people..... with that little soul no wonder EDM speaks to them.
