I swear, after reading some posts, this would not surprise me:

Hi rainbowwarriorkittenunicorn family.
I forgot to get a ticket, or log on to try, and don't understand what a vehicle pass is, but hope someone has an extra. I can't afford to go, so am hoping for a Low Income ticket, but didn't sign up, so hope someone will give me one, and food and water. I can't buy gas, so will ride my bike up 447, and know when I get there a miracle will happen and I'll be gifted a ticket and people will share food and shelter.
thing is, I got these really cool shoes, but they won't stay on, and I keep tripping on the two long strings that go through holes and hang off the sides, can someone help me?

Peace Out.

I expect it to be quite a party with all those PGE folks. Mandy's picking me up. The PoopMobile could make most of it, but why take the chance, she's low to the ground - great for snow driving, not so good for rock climbing.
I'm gonna invest in a cot today cause I'm not all for bugs snuggling into bed with me. Besides, it will make a good seat. I have a cheap lawn chair that tries to kill me when I just look at it. That's going to get donated, let someone else try to tame it.

Morning bar Peeps. Robbi I'll see you at the Hof. That reminds me. I think I have a chair for you. I'll bring it to the Hof for you to look at. Well, sit in. It's one of those folding, padded pappa san chairs like we use at our camp.

Thanks Ratty, i appreciate you thinking of me. I own one myself, but won't take it to the Hoff as I don't know what space allowances I have. And as I'm going into highly Moble mode soon, can't take on more stuff not high priority. I'll have a folding chair that I'm sitting in right now that I'll prob take also, as it folds up small. No arms, very light. I wish I could find more like it.

Hey all, thought I might drop in a minute. I have my tickets to go out west to the HOF gathering...holy crap, in what, a little over 6 weeks from now? I am really looking forward to the trip, been too long since last Sept. Gonna spend Thursday night at the Sands if anyone is hanging out........

Mornin All!

That bar fight would've been interesting to see

Well, last day of my four day weekend. Wanted to go to the Sculpture Fest, maybe next year.
Gotta have a blood test today to check my cholesterol. Be doing that in about an hour. Had to fast so I'm kinda hungry and want to get this over with.
Then gotta go to the dump and grocery shopping, cut the front yard.....that'll pretty much shoot my day
Have a great day all and be safe

Yes.

Yesterday at work, someone nearby was missing an item from their cart: a riding crop. "You know? A riding crop, a whip?" Somebody replied, "oh you, kinky burner." "No, just a burner..." *perk* I'm thinking "finally, contact." A little bit later I say that a velvet princess outfit I'm packing would make a nice playa costume, (you know sprinkling out some code.) The response was, "No that's not a playa costume, a playa costume is just nakedness and pasties." Scoff. Continuing..."I like to party but I won't do that shit." I was going to ask if they'd ever been, but just kept quiet and considered that I'd just been mistaken, sigh. Burner in this case perhaps being a derisive term.

I usually immediately ask them where they lived. This stops the conversation cold if they were just talking out of their ass.
It's a neutral question, but very telling.

I've had one guy blather on how he didnt know where he lived because he moved around.
Uh huh, and did you use the porta potties?
<stare>
Hmmm, he wandered off in a blather of nonsense.
He probably did go, but took all the wrong drugs.

Elorrum, I wouldn't say mistaken so much as maybe forward thinking. They sound like they may have heard some things, and would probably even like the event, but there are some misconceptions and also preconceived ideas. While there are many awesome burners out there (as we see every day on the board and in this thread), there are also many others who perpetuate the negative stereotypes (we see some of them on the boards too). Maybe they'll come around someday.

Meanwhile, it's already a few hours into a busy day and exciting week. Apocalyptical mayhem on the big screen later this week, then maker faire fun on the weekend. In the meantime I'm starting to make some progress on a crazy modeling project that's been driving me a little crazy lately (I'll post about it in the work in progress thread once I get the chance to snap some pics), and camp stuff is also coming together a bit. Gotta get running, lots to try and get done today :)

Good Evening, Bar.
I'm not much of a drinker, but believe I'll have a shot or two tonight.

Another one of those entertaining for all the wrong reasons kind of events...

*wanders into dusty bar*
:coffee:

Things are going well here. I was able to spend a good amount of time outdoors this past weekend; a beautiful time of year for that kind of thing.

Yay for those of you going to the Hof this time around! It sounds like great fun. I'm still hoping to make the trip there, but it won't be this year. TTITD has my plate full for right now.

The Makers Faire sounds fun too! Lots of creative inspiration there for sure.

I'm in the process of sorting out thoughts and ideas regarding art type things to bring this year. Size and weight are always an issue for me, even with a pickup truck, considering 'all the things' that clamor to ride along as well. Ah well, it will all work out.

We haven't had much rain in the last couple of weeks here, so lawnmowing has been reduced to mere frantic mode, down from beserk mode. The 'Tom Waits' lawnmower is still grumbling along, though I think it is secretly just happy to get out and roam around the yard, considering the alternative.

Well, I best be getting some work done..

Have a good hump day!
