Whoa! Wrong time for a storm! I'm going to Maker Faire in San Mateo tomorrow! Much loading and unloading of Stuff.
Well, we will of course manage. And only minor risk of rain over the weekend -- if the weather guessers are to be believed.

I will have a tricycle on display in the PSI Makers exhibit, and a small pedal car (one-adult-sized) in the Death Defying Figure Eight Races.
PSI Makers is a new maker space in Sacramento, run by Burners -- perhaps you remember Camp Inspiratum. There will be a fire-spewing play-thing in action all weekend.

Now must reassemble Millicent The Bus, and fast.

Morning, YG & BVB. Small amount of rain forecast for the next few days. We'll see. Kinda unseasonably cool too. ARTery meeting on Thursday evening. Those are always fun. Starting to check out all my Playa Stuff this weekend and start on making this years Playa schwag. Getting lazy in my old age. Friend Anne and I are going up to the Black Rock Rendezvous over the Memorial Day Weekend. Did it a few years ago and it was both informative and fun. Most interesting to be on Playa with nobody around and checking out the surrounding mountains with folks who know their way around them.

Carpe Diem, kiddies!

Sounds excellent, Elliot, we'll try and find you (in the meantime have a smooth and uneventful trip and load-in). We'll be there Saturday and Sunday I think, but no idea what time of day. The CO should also be there too, showcasing some of his CNC work. Marty, heading out to Black Rock for memorial day sounds like it'll be fun.

Hello Dear Bar

Elliot, that is wonderful..tell all when you come back

Magic Marty, I wish I could go. The people I know who go are clear that it is the best

For me it is a family time.
My oldest son's birthday, which he does not want to celebrate, is Sunday.
I am attending the non-celebration with a lollipop marked "try to act normal"

Good lord I'm stupid!

Bought my sons burner express tickets but fucked it up. I have him returning to San Fransisco instead of Reno. While I'm sure he would love a trip to the city by the bay he needs to be back in Reno for classes. I've emailed support and not worried but I hate it when I do things like this.

Though I could suppose he could tuck and roll when the bus reaches the Keystone exit...
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

Hope to see you there too as...

Yeah I help him out. He's a poor college student, works part time, lives on his own so yeah...
As long as he keeps his grades up I'll help him out as much as I can. Going to be a teacher so even if he did take out college loans, which so far we haven't had to do, it would take quite a while to pay off.

He won't be going up as early as Sadie and I. Figured best way to get him up there's burner express. I'll have his stuff and he can avoid the gate wait

I sympathize. I'm still working on getting The Moose reassembled and de-winterized. Do you have birds making nests on top of the radiator and engine block like I do? They're getting right through the grille!

I've seen snow fall here in the valleys in early June couple times, but Memorial Day weekend seems like anything can happen. In 2012 we went to an Aces game and had all four seasons in 9 innings. Memorial Day weekend in 2007 the Washoe Valley got three inches of snow and went to a Reno Silver Sox game that afternoon and again, had all four seasons, mostly cold and blustery with scattered flurries. Die hard baseball fans that we are, froze our asses off.

Raining here right now. Had snow/rain mix in Virginia City off and on today. Took a bearcat crack filling trailer to Reno around 9:00 this morning and it felt almost warm compared to VC. Took my sweatshirt off and rolled my sleeves up, even though it was in the low 50s.

yeah Catman, same here with seasons. If memory serves, I've seen snow, every month of the year, at one time in my life here. Ca mountains can do that.
Had Burner friends from SLC drop in last night, on their way to the Bay area.....they ended up staying the night, and are still asleep. Because: Whiskey.

Good morning, bar! Let's see, weekend plans... There may be some drinking and another showing of Mad Max in my immediate future, then my gf and I have weekend tickets for Maker Faire... which means two days of funnel cake opportunities :D Then, coming up on Tuesday we're going to see U2 down in San Jose.. can't wait for that. In the meantime, lots of painting and texturing on deck for today.

Mornin' campers!

For those of you in the general Sacramento-Placer region, tomorrow (Saturday, May 16) is the First Annual Sacramento Region Community Arts Showcase to be held at Leo's Pub & Grub in Penryn, right at the I-80/Penryn exit. (3129 Penryn Road) There are currently about 200 burners signed up to attend. The doins will be from 2 p.m. until midnight. The purpose of the event is to promote and build enthusiasm of all kinds in the burner community. The Showcase will feature artists from our region (no, we murderers of Barbies are not considered "artists") and others showing off their stuff! We would love to see a lot more of you there. You can also check them out on Facebook. Oh, and for what it's worth, they have a full bar and make a heart-attack inducing cheeseburger that is simply scrumptious.

Happy Saturday!
Got a new ISP, 5 times faster than my DSL, now just hoping it'll be stable. I note the speed does vary.
So, the challenge, now, of setting up a new router, that will portion the band width, between me and my rentals.
I'll be able to drop 2 ATT services and replace them with this. Hopefully. and a money saving event, too! yay!
