I put up the blocks with this message, "FREE WIFI". On the back I spelled out "NOPE". They would trickle in with their phone in hand. Good times. After about 5 minutes one of the feeb weak hippies who I never saw doing anything for anyone whined about the negativity and had the blocks changed to some asinine mumbling that would be sure not to offend, disturb, mislead, make think, force immediacy, or, the goddess forbid, had any humor or intelligence.

Several months ago I was contacted by a woman I never met. Her first Burn, she is involved with dog rescue, her camp ( a great camp with live music and dancing) was placed near us last year, we have shared interests. As is customary, my on-line distance made me much more attractive than a personal encounter. She wanted to meet me. I, knowing full well that there is a lot less here than meets the eye, avoided arranging any meeting. She attended the Burn with a Man friend and stayed with the dance camp. On Sunday she came over to say hello with her friend, also with the dance camp. New Burners, good people, a great camp.

Meanwhile, a day earlier: On Saturday morning the Boss man had the blocks spell out "MAN BURN EARLY". Lots of laughs. A variation on the classic "MAN BURN DELAYED".

So, my new friends come over to visit the morning after the Man Burn, Sunday, and we talk. The glow of the playa is on them. The discussion turns to the blocks, I tell them about the FREE WIFI and the BURN EARLY and laugh. She turns to him and says low and steady, emphasism on the first word, "That's the reason our camp all ate early yesterday".

The power of the Blocks....in the wrong hands....boring. But stacked by the right people, hilarious and life-changing!
