My name is Sharon and I come all the way from the Middle East to the Playa for the first time
I'm a journalist and I live in Tel Aviv in the past I was a dancer and studied film
I hear stories about Black rock city for years and it always sounded like a dream that will remain unreachable until me and a childhood friend decided to go for it get a lawn from the Bank and purchase flight tickets to a desert in the other side of the world
Since then it has become our project and every day we try to understand the meaning of being a burner and think what can we give to others which is a refreshing thought in the world we live in
Just the experience of planning this journey makes me feel excited about being a part of this community
Currently we still don't have a camp but the people I asked told me that if you really wish to be there you will find your way so we are optimistic
I am willing to learn and would love to hear from you
hello and nice to meet you all!

Welcome to Eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome Sharon, I love your smile. Wow. I'm in awe of travelers from around the world attending the event. It's no small feat to organize a trip that involves so much prep work. You've come to the perfect place for hands-on answers to all those questions floating around in your head. Do a lot of reading and then ask us anything to fill in the blanks. Good luck in your ticket search!
Those aren't buttermilk biscuits I'm lying on Savannah

There is an active Israeli Burn community, if you haven't already gotten in touch with them you might be interested in doing so: http://regionals.burningman.org/regiona ... pe/israel/

Welcome, Sharon!
Having a camp can be helpful, particularly when you are traveling internationally, but it is NOT a must.
However, you can email or message a camp that looks good in this theme camp forum:
2015 Camps, Art & Activities
https://eplaya.burningman.org/viewforum.php?f=403
Or check the archive from last year (you may search by key word, or just browse) and contact any camp that looks good to ask if they're taking new members. List your skills and why you'd be a good fit.

The event has a larger proportion of creatively-inspired individuals like you than the wide world. Welcome and have a great event!
