Yes, I now know. I will find you this year. Thanks. Oh, and a large thank you to our veterans out there. Past and present. My Father sailed and my Stepfather flew.

Mmmmm shandy sounds good.

Nope, not up all night. Those are for special times.

That early catnap felt really good though. Now what to do, what to do?

Have a good work day MDF

Late Afternoon All!

I didn't get up til 7:45 this morning. Went to the Roadrunner café for breakfast. Grocery shopping.
Changed the battery in my truck.
Attempted to remove the positive cable to replace it. What an obstacle course that is. To disconnect the cable from from the starter, I had to remove the R. front tire to gain access to the starter mounting bolts then remove the starter to gain access to the terminal. After doing all that I come to find the conduit of sorts that the cable was in is clamped to the wiring that has the O2 sensor. A type of clamp I never seen. I reinstalled everything, put the new battery in and the truck fired right up. I probably should have replaced the starter since I had it out and it's the original on a 20 year old vehicle.
Fried chicken, fries and fried corn on the cob tonight. To much fried stuff but haven't had it in over a year.

If that's the original starter, I'd highly recommend keeping it and taking it to a decent auto electric shop and having it rebuilt when it needs it. The parts store replacements are not the same quality. If you do slap in a cheapy parts store rebuild, pay the core charge and keep your original, and get it rebuilt later so you can put it back in.

Hey Bar! Awesome dinner with Lucky420 tonight, she provided a great dessert and good conversation. I made carnitas and chili verde (three day weekends are great for meat prices. Anything having to do with cows right now is pretty expensive, but pork is reasonably priced, I find.) and I don't have to cook for awhile. It was a good day for me to put the clutter away, and enjoy cooking.

Not sure what I'll be doing the next two days off work, but I won't be feeling guilty about having to clean up. I love having company. I did make neater piles of the clutter, so, it's a start to finishing unpacking, which won't totally be achieved in my lifetime.

Thanks for the suggestion CD. That never crossed my mind. I'll heed that advice.
I know it's the original. I've had the truck since day one. Most of the components in the engine are original except for the battery, serpentine belt and the fan clutch, which I replaced two year ago this coming Thanksgiving.
The original battery lasted 11 years. The second which is the one I replaced lasted nine, I don't see this one lasting much more than three or four.

Good to see you're back safe ygmir
Good Morning Lucky

Today's my Monday so got some minor running around to :coffee:
Probably go to Cracker Box for breakfast :coffee:
Gotta go to the DMV to renew my truck registration. I hate going there. I feel like I'm gonna catch hepatitis or come out with something I didn't go in with
Maybe stop at Sportsman Warehouse after the DMV since it's right across Stewart St
Cut the front yard

Stay safe

Very talented dogs they are, Australian Cattle dogs are.
Back in 2000 we found one as a stray at about six months old. Named her Aussie.
Lost her in 2012 to cancer and diabetes. That was one smart dog and loyal.

Went to the soak , had a great time. Seen and talked to Foxfur and also seen Ygmir , but he looked busy talking to a bunch of people on Sun. night before the temple burn. I got sick from drinking to fast and left before the Main burn burned to the ground. Was a great time after so I was told :( Had rain the 1st few nights but overall was good weather. Got to work on truck now , on the way home it felt like it was running rich, and choked out up the hill on hwy 26 . Also the choke stopped working, so got some fixin to do before BM.

Was up at the Black Rock Rendezvous this past weekend. Great unsettled weather that was spectacular on Friday and Saturday. Saturday night the stars were brilliant and Sunday was beautiful. Went to the Willow Spring and an abandoned opal mine on Sunday. Got some opals from the tailings. You can stop worrying as to whether the playa has gotten sufficiently wet. It was far too wet to venture out on it this past weekend. Great fun to see the young people devoted to preserving and nurturing this beautiful wilderness area. On the way home, wound up at Sierra Hot Springs and experienced an amazing thunderstorm. and yes some great soaking as well. Dinner in the cafe was really great. Home now and off to a tennis game this morning.

Cheers,

Don't sweat it, Fishy, you're not meant to read every single post. If you're away from the boards a bit and miss some posts that's fine. Think of it as conversation in a bar that takes place when you're not in it. :)

At first the sign pic was funny, Ygmir, but looking at that graphic for a second... I don't think it's a joke. Wow. Maybe they're conducting an elaborate and expensive study to see if bears shit in the woods, or just secretly use BLM toilets when nobody's looking.

Thanks for the update, Marty, I'd heard they'd gotten a fair bit. Still not enough to ensure us a nice hard pack (I think 2011 was the best burn ever in that department), but hopefully enough that there's a nice crust...

Short holiday week is flying by, it's Wednesday already! And somewhat hectic day ahead, our internet provider is supposed to be doing a bunch of work on the building this morning. Hopefully that zips right along and by early afternoon our connection will be better than ever. In the meantime, it's back to work on designing and making a whole bunch of textures for a project... have a great day!
