1st Time Pasadena Burner Here!

Post by bones05212 » Tue Apr 28, 2015 1:29 am

Always curious about BM, now I get to go! I am a newly accepted ESD Medical volunteer who is so stoked to join BM 2015 but I don't know crap about how to start getting ready and what to expect. I read incessantly about anything that's related to BM but I'd like to possibly get to know and meet local Los Angeles burners (and maybe share a ride to the event)! I'm a cool guy that's so easy to get along with--but don't take my word for it, find out for yourself!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome to eplaya Bones. You've come to exactly the right place. Start by reading and finish up by asking questions. Can't wait to meet cha.

Welcome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hi Bones!

Connect to Los Angelenos via:

http://regionals.burningman.com

If you have a hard time with a ride, consider the Burner Express bus service. They have a camping area, but you can also bus in & then schlep to another camp.

No, Ratty, not from NY (but I did attend post-grad school there, not Excelsior College). Savannah, thanks for the LA Burners link--I'm attending a meet and greet on the 17th of May. And thanks for all your warm welcome, Elderberry and Drawingablank.

I am planning on getting to BRC two days early to give myself enough time to acclimate to playa life before my first medical volunteer shift. I am about 95% sure at this point that I will be ok celebrating my first burn as a blank slate--having no expectations, filling my proverbial cup with people and experiences that will all be new (and beneficial, I'm sure). I'm not too worried about affiliating myself with any camp, though I will plan on being everyone's favorite virgin neighbor wherever I decide to pitch my tent.

Hoping to offer the best of me back,
Bones

Speaking of rides, I should actually have said that I am willing to OFFER AND SHARE a ride to BRC, not just share.

1st time burner here as well. Friendly female looking to join a camp and perhaps get a ride to BM from Pasadena/Los Angeles, CA area. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, welcome. I'm an L.A. Burner. You can usually find a ride through the rise share posts and it's a great way to meet and prepare.
