TAKEN:Anti M's HFWA camp spot for International burner/s
Our almost annual offer to an international burner or two, preferably newbies, who need a place to camp without dues, a small camp experience, and logistic support.
The Project:
https://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic ... 03&t=72635
What we offer:
A place in camp with a monkey hut and small tent (you help set it up)
Bedding, and assorted small items such as a hydration pack, a light, etc.
A cooler/eskie for your personal use, and a plastic bin/tote to store things
Water support, but you must bring enough for immediate needs
Use of the shade structure and dry kitchen, handwash station, etc.
Maybe a bike with lock, maybe
Place to park a rental car if you have one
You:
International burner with a ticket (sorry, planning purposes)
Agree to register with the Hushville village, agree to their terms (pretty basic, no generators, no amplified sound, LNT)
Provide your own transportation on and off the playa
Your own food (no watermelons)
Participate in camp chores (keep it picked up, do a couple ice runs, wash your dishes, zip your tent)
Participate in the art project, if you choose. Help with the Gifting box (ten minutes a day, tops)
Practice LNT
We encourage you to volunteer on the playa.
We are a small camp of 6 burners, with a ranger, and some couples. You would be #7 (or #8 ). THIS IS A NO SMOKING CAMP. NO TOBACCO OR 420, and I'm not crazy about vaping or hookahs, or incense or smudging near me. We do consume alcohol in camp. Some of us work on Burn Night.
What we do NOT provide:
Showers
Power (other than camp solar)
Meals
Burn Barrel
Transportation
Early Entry
I know it is early in the year, but I'd like to get to know those interested in our camp and project, as would my campmates (MyLarry, Ranger Genius, Rawr, Grant and Teri). If we do not click on the playa, we will make sure you have a safe and secure place to camp in Hushville.

We were blessed to camp next to this group one year. Fantastic group of people and their camp is one to envy. M, do you hear from Frenchie? He was an absolute delight that year.

Not much, but I believe he has a great new job. Our Aussie from last year is going to graduate school. I feel something like a proud parent.tamarakay wrote:We were blessed to camp next to this group one year. Fantastic group of people and their camp is one to envy. M, do you hear from Frenchie? I moved this over here, for better visibility.
Low key camp, but a good base of operations.

Is this a different camp than Camp Catch and Release that was located at 3:30 and D in 2014? My camp was on the diagonal opposite corner, and they were a great group of folks.

AntiM I can't believe you haven't filled the space. Your camp is great and the offer is sterling. I'm making my old 'AntiM t-shirt into a moop bag this year.

Hi Anti M
I am a Wizzy, I'm from England and I am coming to BRC for the first time this year. It was my dream for the last five years but now that is happening I am excited but a little apprehensive too. I am traveling on my own and although I've done we a lot of research and preparation I would love some guidance from the seasoned burners like yourself and you camp. I thought that you offer to 'adopt' a newbie is a very generous and honest one and I would love to have the opportunity to become a part of your camp,to contribute and share in the experience of BM.
If you think that this could be a possibility please let me know and I will tell you a little bit more about myself.

Wizzy, we have filled our spot, Elise and Gerben be in our camp. All is not lost, you should check out the village of Hushville, where we are located. While you would be a solo camper, you would be surrounded by camps who are supportive of newbies and willing to mentor burgins if you ask. PM me and we can chat about what you need.
