Solo - newbie

Post by Dr_X » Wed Jun 17, 2015 1:15 pm

I'm Edward, a newbie, who'd love to meet someone or many someones to camp with. I'm also driving from SW Georgia and have room for one person if they need a ride. I know it's late in the game, but I'm still hopeful I can find either a camp to join or people to form an informal camp.

Hi Edward!

Perhaps you should talk to Izabel, she's from Georgia too! . . . And I don't think she was the only one, but she was the first person I found when I dug around in this forum.

If you're driving a sedan it'll be a tight fit for two people + gear (it's possible!--just hard) but if it's an SUV, a truck or cargo van, it's much easier. :)

I recommend a look in the 2015 Theme Camps forum and see if you can spot a camp that sounds like fun. Email them or message them with your skills and interests--camps don't usually come to the Introduce Yourself forum to delurk. Don't worry if you don't find a camp though--prepare to the teeth and just come anyway. :) You'll have tons of neighbors.

See if you can make some regional contacts too, though.

Hi Edward,
My name's Saphira, I'm with Camp Cyberia - we're a pretty hip crowd  - this year we'll have Japanese Robe Bondage, Yoga, meditation, snow cones - it's our third year and we look to make sure everyone helps out a few times a week, but that the experience of Burning Man is still had to its fullest extent. Last year we were fortunate to receive placement, and we're hoping to have placement this year as well. Check us out and feel free to contact us if you'd like to learn more or maybe join. Best to you! (I used to live in Atlanta) campcyberia.org

Welcome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Welcome, you are going on a big adventure. If you search for Florida on ePlaya, you can find someone driving from there with a trailer looking recently to share a ride.

Just in case, keep in mind it is possible and can be quite great to solo camp.

Heya Edward!

I'm a 2nd year BabyBurner from the Bay area and due to a recent breakup been disowned from my last camp so will be camping alone as well. Last year, I was supposed to be camping with one friend, but was adopted into a camp after a day and made some great friends.

Anything is possible! Hit me up if you wanna chat more!
