Offering Rv space
Hey guys,
We have got some space in our RV . We are leaving San Fran on August the 29th . It's a 40ft bus and we have put a lot of work into fixing it up .We have our own camp and we are waiting on placement . We're looking for outgoing , sociable , clean , responsible , tune loving camp mates who can participate in the camp , . If your interested in hooking up drop us a mail and we could chat to see if we can make it work .

Hi schoolie! My name is Cassandra, I'm 26, and traveling solo this year. This sounds like thee most awesome set up. I would be coming from LA which might be a problem but I could figure it out! Maybe meet you guys in Reno or somethin. I will certainly pitch in and contribute food, drink, good company. Let me know if you guys still have space!

Awesome indeed. Can't figure out why the commercially built RVs are just as bulky exterior-wise as the school-bus conversions, but have so much less room inside. The water and waste tanks can't take up that much space...

They have cabinets and appliances and such crammed everywhere. That bus hasn't nearly the amenities of a factory RV - but it has SPACE!
I love that bus too, but the RV makers can't sell empty space. I like "Toy Hauler" RV trailers with the big empty garages in the rear, that's as close as you can get to having nice, clear, useable space in a factory rig.

Re: Rv space
Yeah, useless amenities. I just pulled the horrendously expensive yet broken (due to not being properly winterized by the former owner) washer/dryer out of my used RV; probably freed up at least 80 pounds and 12 cubic feet of space doing that, but the space is in an unfinished cupboard sitting on top of the rear furnace, and underneath another (finished) cupboard. Excessively long yet unusably narrow lavatory counter extension reducing access to the rear bedroom. A unreachable magazine rack behind the front sofa; the sofa could have been 9 inches closer to the wall without that wasted space. At least they made the dinette "bed" big enough for an adult; most Class C RV's these days have a dinette you can barely get two opposing plates on, let alone an adult in bed mode.Captain Goddammit wrote:They have cabinets and appliances and such crammed everywhere. I hope it doesn't rain on my summer fishing trip; jamming 11 people into that commercial RV will be way too crowded (and it's happened before). Of course, it will be equally too crowded with 11 burners during a dust storm.

Great looking conversion - good job guys. School buses are usually pretty solid rigs, this should last you for years.

Hi! Are you still looking for people? Are you looking for people to both travel and stay in the RV during BM? I'm a solo traveler and just had a friend cancel on me. I would be traveling from Atlanta, but not sure yet how I am getting to the playa. How many people are traveling and staying in the RV? Would love to hear more about it! Thanks!

Hey we put a new 15,500 BTU Coleman rooftop unit in. The roof has roof racks to defect the sun and we have sun visor blinds and shade structures to keep the sun off so hopefully that does the job ..

Re: Offering Rv space
I need a burning man miracle… My boyfriend of 5 ½ years had planned this awesome burning man trip for my 30th b-day (sept. 9). We both are first-time burner and I’ve said I have to go to burning man before I’m 30 for over a decade so this was my chance! We live in South Carolina so he planned almost a 3 week trip with all these stops to and from BM, I was so excited!!
Unfortunately last week we decided we need to go our separate ways sooner rather than later due to future life goals not coinciding. I will be quitting my job and moving to Atlanta the week before BM so I need to save as much money as possible. He offered to still pay for the trip as my birthday gift but I do not want to go to my first burn alone or on someone’s dime that’s not even there to enjoy it.
I registered for the OMG sale but didn’t get a ticket and the vultures on ebay are selling them for $800+ and I just can’t do that and still afford to go. I’m looking for a ticket as cheap as possible (hopefully OMG sale price) and maybe some cool people that don’t mind an outgoing female tagging alone their camp. The soon to be ex offered to let me still borrow his tent, sun shade, tarps, etc. so I won’t be totally unprepared.
I have contacted a group looking to share an rv and they seem fantastic and really prepared but I’m just a little afraid that option might be too expensive for me
. I do have limited funds for a spot in an rv if someone is willing to take $400 or less for space. I will bring all my own food and can bring my own water plus I’m small and can sleep anywhere a sleeping bag can fit.
If you can help my 30th birthday trip still happen in any way let me know!
Happy Trails!

Re: Offering Rv space
It is probably too late. I am probably not fun loving enough. I had a camp space and an RV but I cancelled them because the person I went with last year had to cancel. This would be my third burn. If there is still space, call me to discuss it. That way we could decide a lot easier whether there is compatibility. I would have no problem paying my part of the fee. 267-339-2483
