Good morning bar, I am looking and feeling my absolute best this morning myself... ugh.

You must have some secret, I believe we are the same age and I know you are into that 900bpm EDM and you're still alive. We saw what I consider the most fun rock band ever, a local band called the Presidents of the United States of America, and you can't help but jump through their whole show. They were nationally famous about 20 years ago, every song they do is about bugs or fruit or some silly-ass thing and they manage to turn it into rock&roll.

My raspberries are already ripening, and I missed the first pick. I eat right off the canes. Hard to do a good pick with my foot in the stupid walking boot.

Yesterday was Rythem and Brews in Folsom. We had fun because we were drunk. No other reason. We commandeered an empty booth and commenced to give 'friends of Bill X.' meetings on one side and oral surveys on the other. Nothing was written down but we convinced them that it was very important work. There were several people sitting in chairs waiting for our nurses from the red cross to come and take their blood donations. I guess we weren't the only drunks there. There was a booth a little ways down the isle where kids were getting temp tattoos on their arms. We would point and refer to the young blood donors. From a distance it really looked like they were donating. Got great swag from the PBR booth.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there,

and Happy Birthday to mgb327!!

Happy Sunday to all the rest of us!

Just home from a nice breakfast with FIGJAM, somewhere between his place and mine... cool '50s diner!
I accidentally left my (souped-up) coffee in the garage before leaving and it's still warm!

Gonna be HOT again today... not so bad here, compared to FIGJAM's. He said it was still 90-something at 11:30 last night!

Meanwhile, :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Marty, don't be ashamed, Costco gets a chunk of their offerings from local providers and the freshies at bay area joints has always been impressive.

Woohoo for a spectacular pre-compression. Went with the girlfriend and her parents (who picked a couple things from our playawear to get decked out). They really enjoyed it, and got a great big kick out of climbing on board an art car. Even though it didn't go anywhere, they really connected with the awesomeness of mutant vehicles. It's always nice to get to spend time hanging out at the venue (American Steel), a couple of the Crude Awakening pieces and other dazzling playa sculptures were out in the yard, as if previews of desert art aren't cool enough that really made me feel at home. We ran into Killbuck and Nilasnake and Osc and Super Suz and others, even though we were only there for a few hours (her parents needed to get back home, they had an early flight home).

Today is fine-tuning a few art pieces, and then hopefully sending more work off to the printer. Then we'll hopefully get out to the movies, some friends of ours have been working for years on one of the big weekend movies and we're eager to check it out.

Getting closer to TTITD! WooHoo!

Nice shirt LB, and YAY for jella tickets!

Speaking of closer, if you get a chance to look up you'll notice that Jupiter and Venus are forming a conjunction and are rapidly closing the perceived distance to one another in the evening sky the rest of this month. By the end of June they should appear very close to each other, just after sunset, if all goes well.

I'm thinking that folks may get a great view from the Hof!

They're already appearing pretty close together in the evening sky, and bright enough to turn up in cell phone cam pics... I got one of them with the moon while we were at decom last weekend. It's not a great pic, but it made me happy. It's a shame wabi sabi or some of the others from the Black Rock Observatory aren't able to make it to the Hof, and bring that crazy awesome 20 inch scope they've built :)

Hooray for tickets, and for playawear, and happy belated birthday to mgb! Monday was a little crazy, and this week is looking and feeling like it'll be pretty busy, then a wonderful weekend getaway :D

Good Morning Bar! coffee is hot and strong, thanks BVB.

Lonesomebri, if you wake up the morning after game night, and feel like people have been walking all over your chest, you'll remember, right? Fun outfit.

I have projects all over my apartment, and have the feeling that the most time consuming will prove too fragile, and won't make it on the outside. I will focus on the bike issues today, that's something I'll definitely need, and use. And, that's a whole 'nother mess to start on.

Wow, odd thing:
I'm a crane truck operator in the default; I'm downtown loading some stuff onto a barge, and I just visited the porta-potty. Normally, every time I do that I just pretend I'm on the playa - and it works, being inside a porto is really the most complete, realistic being-in-BRC simulation I've ever found.
This place has portos so clean and nice (and they aren't brand new) I couldn't believe it. I wasn't even able to fool myself that I was at Burning Man for a minute, it was just too nice.
I can't figure out if it's possible I'd be happier in a crappier one??!!

So, so very cool, Trilo!

I know these guys. Bobzilla tagged me for the first time in '08, when he did his Exodus set. I'm driving out the gate, right, and what should come on but the Doors "This is the End". Great tune, and the timing was spot on. That's when I began to listen to BMIR.

Dave Decibel does primo mash-up if you let him. Another buddy of mine, from Albuquerque, NM. And he's gone Bobzilla-like on us, because he shaved his head last year! Wonder what he'll look like this year?

Thanks again!

Over-the-road truck drivers pretty much live in the truck, sleeping in a bunk behind the driver seat, parked in noisy truckstops. Not a great way to get a good night's sleep and feel happy about it.
So I used to imagine I was at Burning Man, sleeping in my cozy bunk in Millicent The Bus. Problem solved.

Spending a few weeks with Larry on the truck, my head next to the noisy reefer unit behind the cab, increased my capacity to sleep at Burning Man.

Hey, jella, do you do slivowitz too?!!!!!!

Love the stuff. Finally found a restaurant that serves it in Jefferson City, a little place called Das Stein Haus. It has authentic Gernan cuisine, right down to the German potato salad (YUM!), wienerschnitzel, and rotkraut
(red cabbage sauerkraut.) The owner, Helmut, sets a fine table at about $25/person!
