Hexayurt tape cutting or removal?

Post by sparr » Tue Jul 07, 2015 11:37 am

I've found half a dozen guides for making hexayurts, but none of them cover what happens when you want to take the yurt down. Do you just cut the non-permanent tape seams and leave the tape in place, making your wall edges a little thicker every time you deploy? Do you use a different kind of tape for the permanent and non-permanent seams so that the latter can be removed leaving the former in place? Is there some other trick that I'm not imagining?
If you want to make a reply about my personality instead of about what this thread is about, don't clutter this thread, post over here instead.

Cut it where you taped it on the playa. That way, it'll fold back down the way you brought it. And expect to replace all tape that was not covered with foil, a week of sun makes it crumbly.
