Greetings from Colorado Springs
Greetings from Colorado Springs
Hello, I'm so excited to be attending burning man for the first time this year. I will be attending with a friend who has been to 4 previous burns. We will not be in a named camp, but just a couple of wild women on the playa. I'm also happy to say I will be volunteering with the Temple Guardians. I have to admit that I am in desperate need of a 12 step program for my ePlaya addiction. There is so much information out here, it's great to be a part of an open/sharing community, but it's really starting to interrupt my sleep patterns.
Happy Sunday!

Welcome
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Re: Greetings from Colorado Springs
Are you actually a banjo player?
Will you be gettin' your bluegrass on?
If so, I'd love to know where/when; I dig me some playa pickin'!

Yes, I do play banjo, but I play Irish banjo. It's pretty similar, fun music, but played with a pick rather than fingers. Also my banjo has 4 strings and not 5. I own a 5 string, but don't have time to work two totally different types of playing...until I retire or win the lottery, then I'll have time.

Thanks, yeah I've heard there is a pub or two on the playa. If I bring a banjo, it won't be my good one, but it would be fun to have around camp if nothing else. I guess we'll have to see if there's room in the car. From reading all the preparation threads, I'm going to be bringing a lot of stuff that is essential for survival.

Yep, you definitely don't want to bring a 'first string' instrument to the playa; that's what the beater is for!

That's awesome, nothing better than a cool pub on a hot afternoon with some tunes!

Welcome banjobabe. I speak for many when I say, you can sleep again in Sept for a few months. From January on, get used to being haunted.

LOL, so true. I'll sleep the sleep of the innocent...but not until I get home from the playa.Ratty wrote:Welcome banjobabe. I speak for many when I say, you can sleep again in Sept for a few months. From January on, get used to being haunted.

Hey! Welcome! Come by the Wanderers camp at 3:15 and F. We feature toxic tonic (gin & tonic) and hot dogs for weary playa wanderers every day at 4:00-6:00 pm. Come on by and sit a spell!!

Yes, I feel a little toxic tonic might be just the thing.Wigwam wrote:Hey! Welcome! Come by the Wanderers camp at 3:15 and F. We feature toxic tonic (gin & tonic) and hot dogs for weary playa wanderers every day at 4:00-6:00 pm. Come on by and sit a spell!!
