6:00 Neighborhood Camps

Alright, what camps (registered or otherwise) are planning on camping in the 5ish to 7ish range on the dial? We know you're out there, on ring road or tucked away behind Center Camp… Yes, we realize that placement is not announced until early July, and not all camps have filled out a placement questionnaire. Tell us about where you've requested, or where you're aiming to camp in the neighborhood if you're not a placed theme camp. This thread is for camps to announce their locations and intentions (not for recruiting, posting lineups and schedules, or other stuff you can tell us in your own camp thread)… tell us who you are, meet your neighbors!

Art Model Camp, which hosts figure drawing sessions from noon to 3 every day, should be somewhere between 6:30 and 7:00 on the outer road of the AEZ, which is likely to be H.

The Lamplighters are located at 5:45 in the inner circle, with our chapel-workspace on the Esplanade side and our two-story bar-lounge on Rod's Road.

Part of BRC's infrastructure, the Lamplighters have been cleaning, lighting, carrying, and lifting nearly 1,000 kerosene lanterns along the major streets of the city every night without fail for the past twenty years.

Hello friends!

Camp Cyberia was located at 6:00 and J in 2013, and 6:00 and E (as official placed camp) in 2014. This year we've applied for placement in the same area, so we hope we'll see all our neighbors again this year! We still have space if you're looking for a home.

Don't panic yet, it does take placers a couple days to get the word out. It's something like a total of 1300 or so camps that are placed, the placers all have day jobs too, and some email providers may have limits on how many emails can be sent at a time without getting flagged as a spammer.

Camp leaders, you may also want to take this time to make sure your spam filters have been updated... email from the team is now coming from placement@burningman.org

And for a walking volunteer that is rough
something else to consider when setting up work shifts
maybe this year I will stay closer to home

Anyone going to be a neighbor?
If anyone in your camp becomes one of the walking wounded (Those pesky Failure to Fly injuries) come by and see what we can do to help them out.

We still need to figure out how to get you down our zip-line

We do have a group who will be running the Zip-Line with suspension hooks in their backs... would you be interested in expanding your... horizons?

And in other news, Dreamers Guild, the Temple build crew, will be camped at 6:45 & Ersatz!

I hope to bring out my swingset again this year. It doesn't breathe fire or anything exciting, but has beer holders on the chains so come by and say hi!

Hey 6:00 Neighborhood! My name is Pardo Bear, and I run the Kitchen for the Avant Yard (6:00 and Hanky Panky)

We've decided to rent a reefer (refrigerated) truck for our kitchen this year so that we can keep all our food fresh and organized for the 10 days we'll be on Playa. It's a 24ft full dock height reefer box with a 3,000 lb hydraulic lift gate. We have another truck that will be bringing our infrastructure to the Playa days earlier and then leaving the playa to be switched out for the reefer, which will hit the San Francisco Produce Terminal, Costco, Trader Joe’s, a meat supplier (TBD), and Restaurant Depot on the way back to the playa.

We don’t need all the space in the truck though for our journey to the playa, and for our stay on Playa, (though it will be full of our infrastructure when we leave) so we’re looking to rent out space in our truck. Wether you cook for 100 and want a full pallet worth of food kept at 38 degrees, have a small camp and want a couple 2ftx2ftx2ft cardboard boxes kept cold, or want to keep kegs or cases of beer cold and ready to go, we’d like to help you out (and would like to recoup some of the cost of our truck). We’re also happy add parts of your grocery list to our shopping trips and transport it in the reefer truck to the playa for you.

PS We reserved this truck when months ago when our roster had about 100 names on it. Now, we're gonna be a camp of 60-70.

Hi neighbors! As I mentioned on the Fixer camp thread, BRC Hardware will be on the playa for its 15th (maybe 16th?) year. This year we are at 9:15 and Center Camp Plaza. We'll have a variety of tools, parts, and fix-it types for your repair needs, and whiskey and commiseration if it can't be fixed. And for those who encounter trouble while setting up their camp or art, we plan to try to open up on Sunday morning.
