When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Question too vague to answer.

Not really.Token wrote:Question too vague to answer.
You would not need any fuel if you didn't drive it.
And... You would need a lot of fuel if you drove it a lot. Therefore the answer would be somewhere between zero and a lot.
The next morning you will wake up pretty much your old self except that a very unusual 16 hours will have been added to your store of life experience.

Re: Fuel Useage
To be clear the question isn't how much will I need. The question is how much have others used in the past.

Re: Fuel Useage
No one knows the answer to your question but you. Every vehicle uses a different amount of fuel for a given amount of time and miles driven.
How to calculate how much fuel you will need:
1. Fill your tank, drive for an hour and refill your tank. This will tell you how much fuel you used in an hours worth of driving.
2. If you have an odometer, record the mileage when you begin and record it when you stop. Subtract the beginning mileage from the ending mileage. This will tell you how many miles you have driven.
Only you know how many hours and miles you wish to drive. Since you already know how much fuel you use in one hour and you also know know how much fuel you use to drive X number of miles; you can now plan on how much fuel to bring.
If I have misunderstood your question, I apologize in advance and please just chalk it up to my advanced level of decay.

You have misunderstood but thank you for answering with actual information. I realize that no one can tell me how much I will need without knowing more about the car and how much I plan to drive it. I am not asking how much fuel I will need. I want to know how much fuel others with a similar base have used in past years. Thank you again though for the information you provided.

Re: Fuel Useage
Why do you need to know how much fuel I use?
Since you do not wish to know or to calculate your personal fuel needs, I suspect that you are just trolling.

Re: Fuel Useage
my car uses twice as much fuel driving on the playa than on paved roads. maybe golf carts have similar increased fuel consumption?
or you can listen to the jokes about 'my golf cart used hardly any fuel... just sat at our camp all week except for trips to arctica'

Re: Fuel Useage
The minimum fuel depot buy-in is 25 gallons. That's probably enough if you arrive full and already have some in the gas cans you'll need to bring to pick up your 25 gallons.

Re: Fuel Useage
In an attempt to be helpful, I brought a lawn tractor based MV last year (different system I know but might give you a metric to work with)
I ran ~4-6 hrs. per day 6 days and only burned through about 11 gal of gas. ended up putting all the rest into my truck for exodus.
I think it was because I was stopped a lot chatting with folk at idle.
figure the mpg of your rig and divide backwards
