First Time Burner Duo

Post by drr30 » Sat Jul 25, 2015 4:13 am

Hey Burners,

I'm flying over from the UK with a mate and heading into Burning man on the Burner Express.

As first time burner from overseas I've found the process of finding a theme camp hard! I wish I could contra dance or do fire poi!

We are looking at setting up camp in the 6 o clock area, there supposed to be a bit of space there for people coming via the Express.

Anyone looking to stay in that area?

We are keen to meet, share shade, some great cocktails and have a great time!

If not let me know of any welcoming theme camps suitable for people with less artistic talents

Welcome! You might look around on the regionals page and see if there are any burner groups close to you. I know we have a large European presence. my hat is off to you coming that distance and using the bus.

Welcome to eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Welcome drr30. If you don't locate a camp that you like you will be in great company at the burner Express camp. when you disembark just drag your belongings a few feet and you'll be in a village of like minded travelers. Last year there was a wooden shade pavilion just for them. (Check your literature to find out if they have one this year.) Nobody was allowed to pitch their tent under it but it was a great chill space. You can always move the next day. It's easy to get help if you ask around.

Have you checked out all the camps that are looking for new members in this section of the forum? There's a quite a few, you might find one that suits you there.

Best of luck and welcome!

Welcome, drr30! . . . . some fine advice is above, there.

I love the concept of two virgins traveling together! (The two of you can alternate saying "Holy shit!" with varying degrees of enthusiasm, wonderment and fear. :D )
