Swayze Camp curious about other Swayze-esque events
Howdy fellow Burners! Excited about this year's Burn which will be my 6th! For the last several years we moved to a smaller roughly 12 person camp and we love it. We're usually Black Rock City Tea Co. where we make sun tea of all kinds and then serve it ice cold during the hottest part of the day to anyone who wants it! This year we're still doing that because we're also making a camp dedicated to all things Patrick Swayze! We're trying to master making Swayze face pancakes (Patty-Cakes) building a small Roadhouse facade, screening nightly Swayze movies on a projector, things of that nature. Anyway here's why I'm on here.
Are any theme camps or folks in general doing anything Swayze related, or djs mixing any Dirty Dancing themed sets or anything like that we don't know about? We're still trying to figure out a few other events for films like Steel Dawn, Point Break, Black Dog, etc... I realized I should reach out to the BM Universe and just check on anything else Swayze related somebody else might be doing or might know about? Like "surfing lessons" for Point Break, or handstand meditation for Steel Dawn, ha ha. etc...
Just curious
peace!!,

I am soooo disappointed. I thought this was to be a camp dedicated to Timex pitchman John Cameron Swayze ("It takes a licking, and keeps on ticking!") where people would submit their wristwatches, clocks, etc. to unspeakable punishment. Sort of like a Thunderdome for timepieces.

Not a helpful response, but I just wanted to say that I love this sort of stuff. The shenanigans of my fellow burners never cease to surprise and amuse me.

I'm sure there will be plenty of dirty dancing all day and night.

a ha ha. John Cameron Swayze would truly be a unique dedication camp. That made me laugh out loud.
Thanks other folks as well. I'll continue to hope

BTW, if folks want to watch a Swayze movie that seems like it was set at Burning Man, you should watch Steel Dawn!! Him and his wife star in it. It's terrible and awesome at the same time.
It's one of the many Swayze films we'll be screening nightly at Camp Swayze.
