Woke up at 12:30 today, but stayed busy most of the day and was doing stuff late last night.

Cut all the chain for lag screw tie downs. Cleaned all the hexayurt panels and finished taping the square ones, just need to cut and tape the last 6 and then hinge all of them. Went thru the garage and pulled out the tables and coolers to get ready and clean, may do some reflectix wrap if I have time. Went thru all my batteries and lights then ordered the last few from China off ebay (time is running out on that). Started on some strawberry peach fruit leather to se how it turns out. Tried my KBS clone coffee stout which I just kegged and it is one of the best beers I have ever made (holy shit, its awesome and going to the playa). Dry hopped my saison and pliny clone. Removed my bike fenders. Charged all my Eneloop batteries. Tested my light saber.

Been staying busy the last 2 days for sure. So much to do.

I guess its normal to spend more time preparing for Burning man than the actual amount of time spent there.

I cleaned out the, long overlooked, garage and moved my gear from the shed to the staging area. I love the smell of playa dust in the morning (and afternoon, and evening, and night).

After 4 burns I decided to replace the ribs as the MH has become rather misshapen. Accentuating that is the last 3 trips they've been halved, I played around with different combos and ultimately decided to start over. It's more of an aesthetic move than structural as it held up well last year even though the skeleton looked like a 90 year old suffering from arthrosclerosis, osteoporosis and kyhosis (with a limp). Had I known it would be only $22 I would not have spent the time on the different permutations and done it right from the getgo. Tomorrow I'll cut them and redo the hut. A plus is that they'll store a little easier in the vehicle without the curves. I think I'm going to lay them on the floor and use them as a base to conserve a little space, downside being having to unload the entire car before I can put it up.

The caffeine pills, and long sought, Cookie Mueller book arrived today. I'm going with the pills to eliminate the energy shots I've used in the past in an effort to cut down on bathroom stops during the trip. I don't drink coffee (recovered ulcer sufferer) and these have been doing the trick at work.

Panty sizes confuse me too until I found Lane Bryant has them in dress sizes. And that only works for plus sizes, starting at 14. Which also is confusing, because an American woman's 14 is different from and American junior miss 14, which are both different from sizes elsewhere.

I pulled out all my bins and got all my clothes and gear into one place to see what needs to be repaired/replaced/finished. I'm not sure what happened to my lights, but the ones I could find all seem to be dead, but I think I have most of the other things sorted, aside from a few clothes repairs and whatever last minute sewing projects I decide to do. Knocked out 2 new skirts and most of a new sundress, and finished etching all of the copper for the pendants I'm making.

Today: Finish said sundress, start picking up snacks and drinks, and start making all these copper discs into jewelry.

Cleaned the RV fridge, then started on a cobweb I found - fucking spider bit me! Swelling the size of a walnut on my palm but not getting any bigger with ice. (I hope I killed that little bastard).

I had my "Money to Burn" sale today. Glad that's out of the way. I made a ton of mon and will give away a vanload of leftovers. That's a big item checked off my list. Now to shop.

Thanks Ratty - yes will watch for any other symptoms as we have some very nasty creepy crawlers here. Lots and lots of black widows and have seen a brown recluse or two. I think this bite is not a biggie.

All preparations have ceased as the granddaughter arrived at noon. Since then we have been reading, playing in the kiddy pool, cooking (takes 18 times as long with all the help) and generally goofing off. Lovely day.

I've been writing camp emails and chasing camp mates for things, we bought a trampoline for the camp and a bunch of flip top storage boxes to store stuff in.

Flamingo themed things have been arriving from Amazon for our camp Flappy Hour.

The thing I'm most excited about though is our new camp logo that one of our campmates made. The man symbol for legs was my idea but I couldn't make it look good and wasn't sure it would work. I'm stokes with how great Charli made it look!.

I've had it made into a camp stamp for theme camp bingo and I think I'll get some stickers printed. I also want to make a stencil so things around the camp can have the logo on them. That might have to wait til next year though.
