As an aside, in the very very unlikely event that a mod deletes a post, how does that affect the count? What if the deleted post is the millionth?

It depends on how the post is removed. When things are parked or quarantined, it stays in the database and is still a part of the big bowl of soup that is the site's total post count. If something is nuked from space (for example, the spambot stuff), it's zapped from the database entirely and does not count.

Being that we're in the last few weeks before the event, I'd say the odds are that the milestone post will be ticketing-related. I kinda hope it's something posted by a site regular, and maybe we can come up with some kind of silly toast to him or her at the MnG on-playa.
