Swing Dance / Lindy Hop on the playa!

I've found out that there have been a number of burners in the swing communities that I'm a part of, in the past have not found a place to swing dance, so in case anyone else out there is googling/searching for it, THIS YEAR IT'S HERE!

Contradance Camp will be hosting swing dancing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings on their floor, at 7:15 & Rod's Road! (Thank you Contradance Camp!)

Make a mental/physical note to be there... and GET READY TO SWING OUT!

By the way, what sort of dance floor will you have? I want to make sure to pack the right shoes.

Re: the floor--

According to their website, http://www.burningmancontradance.com/h:

"We dance on a 28’x60’ (seamless, smooth wood) dance floor, under a 30’x60’dance tent (NEW this year)" !

They do lots of turns/spins in contradance too. Should be good!

Doesn't Tango'd Up On Blues have blues, swing, also? Know they had a floor last year, maybe the year before, though I've done it on the regular playa floor. But good on the Contradance camp for having nights, too

Yeah, they did have a floor the times we went... we didn't know they did swing, but then again, I guess we never asked! Either way, I remember wondering where all the swing action was the year we went (except for the literal Swing Camp, which is awesome in it's own way), and Contradance was kind enough to allow it on their floor for two nights.

If the Tango'd Up On Blues camp has swing events, feel free to post 'em here so we know about them too! I just haven't been able to find any others through googling/etc.

Not associated with Tango'd up In Blues — just a non-discriminatory dancer — but, last year a couple of their dancers stopped by and left us cards with their sked on it. You might be able to find them online beforehand, but I don't know if they even make it into the guide
