Can you read a map, Simon? Are you cartographically challenged? The notification said that the earthquake swarm area was more over towards the Sheldon Wildlife area. It's a hundred miles north of the playa. Plus, it's at 10km depth. I don't think that any magmatic body is boiling anywhere near the surface.

What's your problem Rhino? Don't you know about the subterranean lava tunnels beneath the playa?
What do you think is the real reason they don't allow digging?

I let my son watch Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" series recently. He kept getting hung up on things like people able to fly through the air during fight scenes, etc. I told him he sometimes has to suspend reality in order to appreciate the overall message and art form of Tarantino's movies.
Not sure why that popped into my head just now.....

From what I understand, the subway tunnels have had to make numerous wild turns to avoid the boiling lava tubes beneath the lake.
A plan is what you vary from.

The real reason they don't allow digging is the presence of a rare niobium mineral just meters from the surface that they don't want you to know about. It's called leverite. Do you know what niobium is worth?

Sorry, skippy....I just check my facts and notice the fine points. Like the name in the boot hill cemetery in the film "High Plains Drifter" - Sergio Leone. Wonder where that came from?

I loved it in '13, seems most didn't even know about it and it was never crowded.

To the asshat(s) who replaced the route brochures on the 6'oclock Subway platform with something a little more creative: thanks.

Should we really be discussing this on eplaya? I don't want to have to deal with everyone and their cousin on the platforms this year.

Thing is, if more people don't learn about and rife the BRC subway they will stop running it.
The Google exec bankrolling it will get bored with it. But then, who knows what will be next!

Re: Playa Conditions for 2015
The event has two (2) Official entry gates for ticketed burners: (1) The main gate and (2) The Airport.
Both gates operate in the same manner: Box Office, Will Call, Customs, Screeners, tickets are torn, bells are rung, dust angles are made, and Greeters pass out hugs. However, there is a $40.00 one-time entry fee that all arrivals at the airport must pay that fund the airport entry buildings and infrastructure. Like the main gait, once you enter, you can exit and return. But, at the airport, because some pilots camp under their aircraft outside the perimeter fence, there is no $20 exit/re-entry fee.
What only a very few know is that the subway (mentioned in the above posts) also has a feeder line that runs direct from behind Bruno's gas station in Gerlach (where subway tickets are sold) to the airport gate. Since so few people know about this feeder line, the wait times are usually 10 min. or less.
I strongly suggest that we please cease discussing this subway system in a public forum lest it become more generally known and the wait line at Bruno's turns into a 10 hr. wait line like the main gate. If this were to happen, no doubt that Burno would not be able to sell gas and he will ask that the subway ticket booth and entry be closed.
