Hopefully those critters have short shelf lives, and another week of dry and hot will bring about their apocalypse.

Dogs are the leaders of the planet. If you see two life forms, one of them’s making a poop, the other one’s carrying it for him, who would you assume is in charge?

It's a Burning Man Miracle! I woke up at 7, and worked for two hours, soldered, hot glued, stripped wires, used a drill. WITHOUT COFFEE!!!

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
Mornin' campers.
Just got back from a 17 mile run in the heat (and smoke) around Folsom Lake. My left hamstring is a mess and the hills are murder. Going down them isn't so bad, but coming back it's all uphill from mile 14 to 16 and that's a killer. And why am I doing such a stupid thing? The New York City Marathon, of which I have secured a berth, is only 10 1/2 weeks away. And with TTITD smack dab in the middle of my training schedule, I'm not so naive as to think I'll get in any real serious training out there. I mean, come on, be realistic. I have come to the conclusion that marathon running, like most sports, is best left for the youth. Which is why when I do the run, I intend to start off slow, then taper off.

And run with your face covered, because: bugs.
Good luck to you, Doc!
I am so bummed about the swarms of bugs. Hoping they will all dessicate over the next week.

Maybe all the bats will take care of all the bugs. Like the Mormon seagulls eating the crickets.
The smoke from California is thick enough here that the view of Ben Lomond was partially obscured from the hospital ... that's only about 30 miles!

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
Please forgive this cross-posting:
My brother is in Reno and needs a mechanic to replace front wheel bearings on our 2002 Ford F-350 4x4. Today. Wednesday August 19.
He flies back to Europe from San Francisco in the afternoon of Thursday August 20.
The truck is still sort'a drivable, so will probably make it to a Reno area shop.
He is staying with friends in Lemmon Valley, and I have the telephone number to the house.
(And yes, I have sent an e-mail to Mr. Fix-It (Dale).)

Morning Bar!
Up at dark thirty to go speak to the bus drivers again today. All in all a pretty nice bunch of people.
Sorry Elliot I don't know any mechanics.

Dang, what an evening last night. Got seriously trolled by an ass-hat on FB. Relentless fucker.... Hope I run into this idjit....well, maybe not. Elliot, I can do those bearings for you, except I am in Virginia. Just did the front hubs/bearing sets on the Sub yesterday. Getting down to the wire for me here, I start the drive out on Tuesday. I sure do love my BM friends and community, y'all keep me sane...well, sort of.

well two days to departure............
I'd second the Les Schwab idea, Elliot. they also guarantee the work, and at any shop. I've found their prices very fair, and that's a simple, if not time consuming, fix.
good job on the troll, MGB!! keep sane? eek!! WTFAYT?

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
I'm in the process of taking some extra time off work in order to finish up some burn related construction and details, letting go and postponing other things for next time, and beginning the final gather. Whew! No one said going to Burning Man was easy. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
We have received several recommendations for mechanics, so it is now up to R.C. to recruit one of them to do this job right away. Thanks!
