so.... here I am... wow... we ARE alone... where'd those three go? Sensei pops in now and then, Lovely Lydia less often, and the Captain appears to have turned into the Flying Dutchman: a ghost of a figure, doomed to sail the seas forever and never reach a safe haven...

I just spoke with Waleed... and we both agreed, that a person will have the kind of day that they want to have, and that we are both going to have a JOYFULL!! day, and nobody is going to stop us: not even our own selves. Now, I'm not fasting, so it's just the same old shit for me, but Waleed (who is one of the most self possessed men I know) is fasting... and yet, he is surrounding himself with Joy.

Hang in there, and choose JOY.

and, yes... where the hell is Chickenfish?

it's a lot easier now that i've gotten over the grumpies of the first few days.
it feels really good (except for the hungry and dizzy and such, but even that feels satisfying in a way)

ramadan is just so cool...

maybe chickenfish is mad because i didn't meet him and sing to him on playa as planned.
[wail]but i miss him!![/wail]

Ditto... I miss him, too. At least we have some wonderful minds out there, playing with thoughts and ideas like he did...

And Rob...!!!! Where the fuck is Rob!!!????

once again, alone on the eplaya. i think i'm jealous of everyone who's sleeping in. i think i should be doing something more constructive and meaningful with my time. i think i should hop on a plane to the mid east. i think that it's entirely possible that i think too much.

it's really pretty, from here i get to see the sun rise over west seattle, lighting up harbor island. from here i can see the fresh snow on the olympics, watch the light begin to spread silver fingers over puget sound. from here i can look below and all of the things that seemed strange from street level become a beautiful, intentional pattern, and the streets corridors of trees.

i'm tired of playing. i want to work. (and no, i'm not speaking of my job...)

Not a single posting on the GD board for about fifteen minutes.... Sigh...

I hear the wind on the playa... pulling across the damp ground like a bow against a string of a large muted bass.

The song rings in my head....

Well, somebody's got to make sure that Jim Mason doesn't sneak in here while we're all away.

i can't believe it.

i walk away for 15 minutes and there's almost nothing new in GD.

*sigh*

perhaps i will have to go back to reading conservative perspectives on the 1990s. Joel would be proud. it scares me.

if stuart were here i could resurrect the proletariat conversation with my new insight into marx.

people need to be less funny when they're gonna leave me like that.
damn.

Well... where is everyone... not a posting in the last twenty minutes... slow day on the eplaya... it's a little chilly out there, sun's either going down early or hiding behind the hills, or the clouds... must be winter...

It's times like this that I treasure.... the stillness... the raw, wide open, all engulfing force of Nature just... sitting there. This place (or places like it) have been around for millions of years... and will be here for millions of years after we are gone... that gives me peace....

Ahhhhhh....... Life is, indeed, Good...

Well Lydia Love was here 25 minutes ago, but now she's gone, probably off to bed. I'm getting up for yet another Sunday. Need to do something interesting today.

mini plug:

if you've got too much spare time, and not enough burning man influence, the 3playa gets about twice as much traffic, postwise, as the eplaya does.

it's still dead in the wee hours of the morning, and the interface is completely different, and it can be a litle cliquish (in the sense that there are some people who just won't be able to make themselves welcome). but for the most part it's a good group, and you can tailor your experience somewhat to keep away from things that may push your buttons.

but if you're just sitting here, clicking "reload" to see if anything new has shown up, it might be worth taking a peek.

eplaya has gone psychotic again.......up up in the sky is it a worm? is it a trojan? is it some malicious script? perhaps one or some or all....only the shadow knows....

There's just one question you have to ask yourself (if you typed your password in the dev box)- do you feel lucky? Do you care if some hacker somewhere now has your eplaya password? What kind of damage could possibly be done?

Okay, three questions. Sheesh...

there are good hackers and there are bad hackers
the good ones work for truth , justice, and the American way ( sorry Superman) ...the United Nations Way(?)
the bad ones are thieves, spamers, spyhacks, phishers and dweebs

The laws of Karma are always at work...unseen, unknown, unrealized but to the few. So beware bad hacks...by messing with eplaya you are courting karmic disaster! Beware
