I've been so swamped I haven't Had time to post here but at least I've gotten a lot of prep done. One thing I'm very excited about is being able to just reach into my ice chest and grab a pre-cooked, homemade, healthy meal. I have eight nights worth cooked and packed in these special boiling bags: http://www.packitgourmet.com/BoilableBags.html. at first i bought the wrong one, a bag you pour hot water into to rehydrate food. Now I have the right bags, and I'm hoping to keep my body on a more even keel by eating more regularly, and enough. Protein was especially difficult for me to get enough of. Here's hoping this does the trick.

Making up a giant pot of red beans and rice for my contribution to my camp's group meals for the week. I finally had to toss the stupid cat out of the house because I got tired of having to toss him off the counter "No, Johnny, you don't get ham. Or sausage. Or beans."

I feel your pain. Any time I have chicken on the counter I see an orange paw creep up over the other side of the counter attempting to pull the cutting board onto the floor.

Beer cart is almost ready. Still need to add another ring of insulation for the keg. Will need to decorate it if I have time and add some lights. As long as there is space in the van I will fit it.

Also, built a shelf and coat rack for the hexayurt. Tomorrow will be finish the swamp cooler and hexayurt no matter how long it takes.

My item: I spent approximately 5 hours on the phone with various insurance agencies today. Almost everyone was kind, but it took that long to find the right person in the right government office. Good news is that everything appears to be straightened out. Also, all of those various stints waiting on hold allowed me to re-pack all the burn things.

Provided my paperwork at work goes through this week, I will be on-playa.

I've come to the realization that I'm not packing the van because I'm afraid it won't all fit.

My worry was my 'gift'. Foam bike seats are bulky. I'm sandwiching foam between stiff plastic and wratcheting them down to tiny bundles. I feel better now. I'll put the fur covers in those vacuum seal bags and squish them flat too. All thesurvivalgear goes infirst then the costumes, beer, food and water. In that order. I can live on beer if the food and water don't fit.
