To the M&G? Sure, bring your people! Nothing wrong with that.
I bring the First Mate, and she doesn't do eplaya. She's usually much more popular than I am!

Good to know.. Teal (my spouse,) is also way cooler then I am.. you'll all love her.. I'm mediocre. As long as I don't do what I did at the 2012 meet and greet. Everyone ready for my most embarrassing playa story?! I show up to the meet and greet pretty drunk already, with a buddy, with a cooler of yukaflux (fruit and booze.. it's pretty amazing.) I guess we miscommunicated our method of setting the cooler down.. and one end was on the ground, spilling precious moopy fruit and booze on the playa (at least a litre,) while we stood there in shock! My friend was so embarrassed, he just left. We raked, cleaned it up as best as possible.. but fuck was that a terrible way to meet everyone for the first time. Here's to hoping my 2015 arrival isn't as dramatic.Captain Goddammit wrote:To the M&G? Sure, bring your people! Nothing wrong with that.

Meh. Got caught up battening down the hatches at camp for rumored winds that never materialized, and never made it over after all.Papa Bear wrote:I missed last year's meet & greet, so the last time I attended was 2005.
I will endeavor to correct that this year.
Maybe next year...
Re: Eplaya meet and greet 2015! Wed 6PM, 7 & E
I made it this year for a time but we were not dressed for the turning weather. Great to drop in and eat up all the great foods. Who brought the salmon? Thank you to all who delivered.
Met a few folks in the short time we were there. We must print out avatars next year. I barely remember handles but I recognize tons of avatars now. Happy to see captain's G's boat on display out there, especially after reading efforts to keep her seaworthy.

Great to see so many of you once again at the M&G! I didn't get to stay around too late as I had to be back at camp to get our install up for the evening. Thanks for the good food and friendship!
A plan is what you vary from.
Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

And to YOU, also, for coordinating the cat-herding. A job well done with energy on your part. It was much appreciated by all.Drawingablank wrote:Was another great M&G.

My specific thanks go out to all the fine folk who attended during the short time I was there. Unfortunately, I had to depart at 8 p.m. to go get the Black Rock Beacon, but I wouldn't have missed this shindig for the world. Let's hope that plans for a PhD matriculation don't get in the way for next year.

Re: Eplaya meet and greet 2015! Wed 6PM, 7 & E
This year I paid closer attention to the absinthe reactions... usually I just heard stories, of "I remember everything except what happened after Doc gave me a shot of absinthe." If you have watched prize fights and know the look of the fighter with both hands of the referee's on his shoulders, sort of shaken, but trying to indicate he's going to keep fighting, that's sort of it. I would suggest thinking three drinks ahead before taking that shot, next year.
Good turnout, good spread. If anyone has a blue melamine plate with fishes on it, bring it back next year? If you remember throwing it out? One of a two dollar matched set, no great loss, but long time camping buddies.

I'm just curious, it was a terrific time and all, but with all the booze and ribaldry talk, is there some age limit to attend? I could swear I saw some 14 year old choir boy there dressed as a priest.....

I really enjoyed the meet & greet. Friends, food & booze PLUS I got to play bouncer. A firm but sympathetic NO. Come back in 2 hours and join us for a drink. Oh, and of course the swag!! I have plenty of swag left over that's going to SF Decom this year. That's also where I get a butt load of stickers.
BTW I brought those really stupid plastic things from 2013 that were reused this year. You're welcome. That still makes me laugh.
