Lonesome, Savannah was dressed as a nun. Maybe it was her date?

Re: Eplaya meet and greet 2015! Wed 6PM, 7 & E
I used the firm sympathetic no, and got chewed out and spit upon by some irate guy. He wanted me to explain how I could justify a closed event. I tried to explain, but that was when he spit at me then demanded to see the camp lead. I told him no and to go away or I would get really big people to make him leave. He took a couple steps back, flipped me off and then Ratty and Delle went flying past me and said I was officially off duty. Our two slight bouncers scared him away pretty quickly. Was fun to see.Ratty wrote:I really enjoyed the meet & greet. Friends, food & booze PLUS I got to play bouncer. A firm but sympathetic NO. Come back in 2 hours and join us for a drink. Oh, and of course the swag!! I have plenty of swag left over that's going to SF Decom this year. That's also where I get a butt load of stickers.
BTW I brought those really stupid plastic things from 2013 that were reused this year. You're welcome. That still makes me laugh.

I watched a young couple come in the back and head right for the food. I herded them to the front, where they were shooed away.

I was sitting on a balcony in Florence whilst you were meeting and greeting. Would have loved to have been a part of the All Girl Bouncing Squad.

Lonesome, We had a nice talk. I told you I was much nicer online and hoped that you were much nicer in person. Hey, anybody want a sandwich?

Yes, I was treated kinder than I deserved. I ran the gauntlet of security without a beating. It may be hard to tell at times but I can suffer from a certain social anxiety, call it a developmental handicap or asshatery or what you will. But the folks at the M&G are so wonderful that it was a comfortable evening of good conversation, laughs, food, drinks and swag. I arrived at the M&G with a new burner/eplayan and he later sang the praises of everyone he met and the event itself. Thanks to everyone there, and running the show.

Me and the lady had fun at the M&G as well. it was fun to meet most of you Face to Face and the food was great. I forgot the name of the gentleman that made some Merlot wine and then distilled it. Holy crap that was some strong ass shine. Woo Hoo! Since it was my first time there, I was quite and shy I think. I'm not like that usually. But It was weird that I feel like I know most of you from here, but Face to face was kind of weird for me. Also some really drunk man kissed my girl. Hahaha. We giggled.

Thanks Doc and Barbie Daeth Camp and Wine Bistro for hosting the Meet and Greet. It was awesome once again and I really enjoyed everybody there. It was fun to talk with friends and some of my heroes.

My thanks to the Barbiebarians as well. It was great to actually be able to meet all you folks. I kind of clammed up, because I didn't know what to say besides "Hi". And my scotch was a poor second to Doc's absinthe. But it was a good time regardless.

That's how they all are. I wouldn't miss one. And I really enjoyed meeting you. I think that's what I like so much about eplaya--we are all real people and chances are better than not we will be meeting each other at least once a year. It makes posting here for me more real. And after you've had the chance to meet, it really makes a difference in how you perceive post made here. Knowing a person helps to understand some of the meaning behind what they post. IMHO (I've had a couple of cocktails, so if I'm rambling just ignore it.)Lonesomebri wrote:Yes, I was treated kinder than I deserved. I ran the gauntlet of security without a beating. Ramble on, Elderberry... I agree totally about the joy of meeting so many ePlayans in person. Alot of us don't look like our avatars, that's for sure! And, after meeting people, there's a more personal feeling with posts here. Kind of like talking on the phone to someone you know, after seeing where they live, and being able to 'see' where they are while you talk together.Elderberry wrote:That's how they all are. Re: Eplaya meet and greet 2015! Wed 6PM, 7 & E
I apologize that I didn't make it this year as I had planned. Among the excuses, I had a car crash on the way coming in, which complicated matters but renewed my faith the kindness of Burners/strangers for their help. More specifically, on Wednesday night we were in the last stretch of getting a project we had been working on the previous days operational. In the end, I missed out on M&G.
Real shame, because I hadn't been on ePlaya for a while, and wanted to meet old friends and those I haven't met in person. I'll try and rectify at least the first part this year.

I was there, and it was wonderful.
I am starting to feel guilty now for not putting more effort into it, though I thought the Schwag Stand worked out perfectly and I anticipate reinventing that for next year, in a more central-yet-secure location.
