Oh, by the way, the Cadbury Dairy Milk with Vegemite you gave me is surprisingly good!
I haven't been able to eat many sweets lately, due to a persistent intestinal anomaly, (temporary) but so far, I've had 2 rows, and it's really yummy!

Tomorrow, I leave for our regional Decompression, (Thursday to Sunday) and one of our Jerome group is from Australia, though I don't know how long it's been since he's been back. I'm hoping he's never heard of this chocolate... after all, it is a Limited Edition. It's going with me! (I do know, he loves Vegemite...)

I just saw a live feed for the first time and it's out again!!! I really wanted to go...this would have been my first time too. Well next year I'm going no matter what! Ok...enough pity party. It would be nice to have a camera where people could walk up to and say hi to family and friends who couldn't make it or just do something really stupid.

The huge playa ship "Christina" is in fact built from a cement truck. The chassis supports it, the engine is now up in the hull, and the hydraulic motor that originally spun the mixer drum drives the wheels!

Your thinking sounds rational to me. Perfectly normal, perfectly healthy.

Good morning and top of the day to all of you. Happy birthday unjon and Jovankat!!!!!

Training this week was........eventful.

It seems that the Department wants to spend a shitload of money on the 40 people in the room.

Breakfasts and lunches were provided, and lodging at the premier resort at Lake of the Ozarks, a place called 'Tan-tar-a", operated by Mariott. Dinners on our own. Then, three hours for a 'hospitality room' every evening. We get 72 hours of personal development credit for the two weeks of the course, entitled Management Development.

Included in the previous week:

Team building
Norms and Values
Supervisory skill development
Leadership training.

Believe it or not, BRC put me in better stead than most people, having been multiple times, I know most of this material. Turns out the trainer on the first day has always wanted to attend Burningman. I'm going to talk him into it, I think.

We were lightly discussing some of the material at the hospitality room one evening, and I brought up the subject of accepting personal responsibility for ourselves and our own actions. He nods vigorously, and says, "Exactly!" I then told him the BRC terminology for that. "Own your own shit." He giggled, and said, "I'll have to think about that!"

Luckily, my team has no sparkle ponies.

I WAS dreading this training. Now it looks like it may have possibilities.
