2015 Moop Map

Well, I'm fucked. I thought the red dot was attached to a little line showing that it was in my camp. Upon further review, the line was to the NAME of my camp, which was bigger than our spot. This means that I won't be kicked out of placement, and may even get directed sales tickets. Six months from now I will have softened on my "never going back" stance, and will be in full Stockholm Syndrome mode. Which means I'll probably go back out. Fuck.

Arghhhh. Day 7 and there is one little street left to do. Of course that's my street. I don't know why I'm so interested. It's a street with no placed camps. Green I'll take all the credit. Red I'll blame the neighbors.

Same boat here. Waiting anxiously to see how my camp did.

It was a tough year for me. I walked through systematically, swept, and raked my area, but I was definitely not in the best mood to MOOP when I left early this year. I'm sure I missed something, of which I hope my campmates were able to get, and if not, I apologize to the Resto folks who had to do it for me.

Well, The DPW emails said that the Restoration Crew would be coming to SF Decom, (and partying across from the park). Maybe there won't be any update on the map soon.

It seemed that the MOOP map looked a bit uglier for my camp, in person, than the online version did. I felt shame near that thing, didn't look at it too hard.

Yep, I can believe that one camp on 6:30 & K got dinged, as that's where one of my tires got punctured during Exodus. Arrgh. Thankfully, it was a slow leak, so I made it safely to Reno, and was able to notice it was low in time to pump it back up and find a tire place to replace it.

I can't help but notice that the BLM/Pershing County Law Enforcement Camp at 5:15 and Esplanade is solid red, and the adjoining BLM Interpretive Center is solid yellow. I guess the BLM left it to the Resto team to clean up??

And if I remember right, this is not the first time BLM scores solid red. That they can be so ignorant of the value of public relations!
They are all over this event otherwise. Surely they must know that we are now mainstreem, and this red spot will become quite widely known.
I would have thought the district manager would have control over their MOOP, but apperently the traditional remoteness and isolation of "Washington D. C." overrules him.

They know we know, and really don't care. It helps reinforce the image that they're the law, they're ABOVE the law. Just like driving 10 times the speed limit on the inner playa, or tampering with USPS packages.

I'm sure they felt having the dogs stiff the packages was a slam dunk for busting people. Sorry, no luck there---and a huge waste of resources.
Someone joking said that if you want to guarantee your package gets delivered on the playa, have someone rub pot on the outside of the box. That will insure that three armed mailmen wearing bullet proof vests will bring you your trinkets--and will even help open them for you.

Not exactly. A camp on playa picks up the mail in Gerlach and delivers it.

No, the prompt and somewhat courteous deliveries are done by the BLM dressed up to look like postal workers.
