I just finished reading "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" by John Perkins. Most of it was shit I was already familiar with; IMF, World Bank, CIA puppet-governments and the Arab/Muslim resistance to Western Imperialism. But really drives the point home and paints a fairly clear picture of how things have gotten to where they are in the post-world war era of empire... Especially while read on a bus ride across Malaysian Borneo with nothing but palm oil plantations as far as the eye could see where once were some of the most biologically diverse rainforests in the world.


A book I'd strongly recommend to anyone wondering "why?" In this fucked up situation of a world we live in.
