Just another guy from San Diego

Post by Paul Luminous » Sun Nov 22, 2015 11:48 pm

Hi, Folks! My name is Paul. I'm just an average guy from San Diego. I work a lot, but like to play when I can. I've been going to outdoor gatherings for some time, but just haven't made it to the playa yet. I saw a post on facebook a few weeks ago about Burning Man, and a little light went on in my brain...what if?

Burning Man is something that I have been manifesting for 8 years now, and I'm super excited that things are falling into place to make that a reality this year! I already have most of my ticket money saved and am eagerly waiting for February to roll around so I can get tickets to this thing and drag my poor boyfriend, Joey along for the ride. He's actually excited about it. He made it through a 3 day gathering, so this is the next step :D

I'm an outdoorsey type guy...my boyfriend...not so much. It will be an adjustment for him (lol) We're both super chill and laid back people (kind of like Mutt & Jeff) and are really looking forward to spending some time in BRC!

Looking forward to getting involved with this lovely community! Take care, and see you guys at the burn!

Welcome Paul. We have a wealth of info here so read and then read some more. (Start on the BM website with the suggested/required reading for newbs.) I hope you can get your boyfriend super excited about the burn. Some of the eplayans stay excited all year. This community board does a great job of that. It makes you want to go out to the storage and stick your head in a dusty tent bag. Welcome, sit and stay a while.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Welcome! I just left San Diego, there is a huge, active burner community there, and an awesome regional every October- Info on Youtopia can be found here: http://sdyoutopia.com, and there is a San Diego burners FB group as well if you want to keep up. Hope to see you on playa sometime!

There is a possibility that our paths have crossed! I've been to Youtopia a couple times and know quite a few burners here :) I've been lurking on the lunatic fringes of the SD community for quite a few years now, just have never made it to the burn lol. This is my year, dammit! :)

Welcome
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.
