I've never stayed in a tent. I can't remember ever even stepping into a tent.
There's always been better options than tents.

Non-tented = not sleeping in a tent. Every year I have camped in a tent. So I'm tented!

They just weren't mine, and no matter how nice the company I always go back to my RV.

Thinking back in my playa addled brain, I do realize I participated in a PnP camp for mid 2K $100. I had a home in a dome with about 25 others on my air mattress in a partitioned area with an OK dome swamp cooler. Meals were included. We had a big dance dome with fine DJs and we had a camp lounge area and a costume exchange. I volunteered to plan 2 dinners and organize their cooking. Each meal I washed dishes and/or did prep. Mooped, built, struck. Some of these campmates are >10 year friends. One person's camp dues are another's PnP evil and debate over RV/hexa/tent. RVs can be inexpensive and tents are even more economical.

It's all splitting hairs in the end. Burnitanism gets old pretty quick.

There is talk on this board about the Alvord Desert in Oregon. Is that owned by BLM? If it is, just cause Oregon made weed legal in the state the desert is Federal property and that makes weed illegal. Sorry to pee on someomes party.

I didn't mean to fire up the tents-vs.-RVs thing, but saying there needs to be some sort of P&P to accommodate VIPs doesn't sound right, it's not like tents are or ever were the only option.
Hell I'm not a VIP and I wouldn't go if they were. Hawaii costs me less and it's REALLY nice there! Black Rock Desert is quite miserable. If I couldn't take most of the misery out of it, the hell with it!!

Yurts man... I love my damn yurt. I did my first two years in a tent and it was hot, dusty and pretty damn miserable. My third year (and every year since) I have had my yurt. It was a complete game changer.
