So I logged into tribe a few weeks ago and noticed that it is actually working again.
I miss Tribe a lot. It was fun... before I ruined the part of it that I was responsible for.
Anyway, for those who care, Tribe might be worth spending time on again.

Re: Tribe?
It's been running the whole time, with largely the same feature set it had before Pincus embezzled money subscribers contributed back in 2007 (and those times they effectively monetized the userbase and all the content we created). Server performances seems to vary with the weather, I have a couple friends who still spend time there and periodically get really excited when people are able to do such things as log in and navigate the site without significant delays. Personally, I'm done with that joint. Regardless of how stable or smooth things might ever run, I no longer have any faith or trust in the management or ownership of the place. I miss tribe a lot, but server performance is the least of the reasons I left.

I miss it too, and also do not trust the management. They've apparently moved it to an AWS architecture and fixed a few things which means it can potentially scale to handle load rather than being left to die on some old server somewhere.trilobyte wrote:It's been running the whole time, with largely the same feature set it had before Pincus embezzled money subscribers contributed back in 2007 (and those times they effectively monetized the userbase and all the content we created). This thread had some interesting tidbits about changes they made in October: http://tribes.tribe.net/tribecampout201 ... cbdd9b7607
Re: Tribe?
Suddenly Tribe's revival by it's founder makes more sense... he's managed to run his other success into the ground.
