we've been pushing 80 deg. (F). nice, but dang we need more rain and snow.
I made a black oak log into a 23x24x120 beam yesterday, before slicing into 3" planks....pretty cool, to make a beam that big, from oak. weighs about 1500 lbs, (estimate).

A nice followup to last week's fedex guy nightmare. I got a call from one of their security people, we talked for a bit and then he came out to take pictures, make notes, and pick up the ID badge from the contractor guy. He was also surprised to see that they were even coming around to our door, because the delivery trucks all double-park around the corner... right in front of the building entrance. Anyhow, notes have been made and hopefully they'll be able to finally have it in their system (like all the other big delivery companies).

Off to the pixel mines, I've got a lot to try and get done today, but none of it is any actual heavy lifting. A few errands, but mostly just design and testing stuff... geeky, but fun! Have a great hump day!

I've mainly driven the California drive... not as far.

I've used several of the Bourbon smoked spices and salts. Goggle "Bourbon Barrel Foods" and you'll find it online plus loads more.

My sweetie became an instant fan of those bourbon-soaked cherries they had at the local purveyor of hooch, but then the last time we were in... they didn't have them anymore. I told her she could alternatively just drink bourbon when she eats cherries, but she says it's not the same. I bet she'd be a fan of those things.

I've had the slow cooker going all day making carnitas, and the whole place just smells so good I can hardly wait til the girl gets home and we have dinner. In honor of taco night... have a beer (or whatever it is you enjoy)!
