Since I have been chosen to be king of Burning Man this year, I got one of my crowns yesterday. I'm having the rest of my wardrobe custom tailored as we speak.

That's a good reminder for us all, remember that the Burner Profiles page has recently migrated to a .org domain - that means that any stored username/passwords will have to be re-entered. Had my aids in for some repair @ the Va.. Looks like heavy fishing line..

A adjustable loop on each end and a roach clip to attach to my collar..

Already have a string for glasses and hat.. Saves run down the playa after shit.

Could you give a tad more detail on the 'Buddy Burners'? I've been saving dryer lint and candle and cheese wax for something useful, and it seems a little burner might be just the thing!

It's not all that scary, Ratty...
dryer lint saturated with wax lights a campfire quite nicely, I must say....
that way, you actually get to eat the corn chips, instead of using them to start the fire.

Dryer lint and wax doesn't taste too good, and the lint gets stuck between your teeth.

I ordered 2 dozen orange bandannas I am going to screen-print and hand out as gifts.



However they are red, not very "square" and only 20 of them made it. I need to find some higher quality bandannas.

Nope. That one was sacrificed to the Great Garbage Can of the Sands... *sigh*

Suffice it to say, I have plenty of wax, after living without electricity for 32 years, using alot of candles (and kerosene lamps) while being The Pack Rat From Hell.


But I'm still curious about your little buddy burners...

Sweet!!!! I took delivery of a large glass lid for my Wok. I'm testing it now to see it it will work great on playa. I think it will.

Patsh, I didn't think you were serious. OK. A little buddy burner. You can find it on pinterest with how-to videos. It's a tuna or cat food can. Cut corrugated cardboard the height of the can and roll it up tightly. Put that spiral of cardboard in the can and fill it with melted candle wax. You can stick old pieces of wick in there to help you light it or just leave some cardboard sticking up a quarter inch. the length of time that it burns depends on the wax and how tightly you rolled the paper among other things. approximately 50 minutes. I love em for a tiny fire when we feel like one. I make em in all shapes and sizes. some have metal lids for going in my pack. (Or even a catfood lid you get at the dollar store.) Have fun with it but I'm not sure about burning the cheese wax.

Put a roll of TP in a can.. Pour rubbing alcohol over it.. warm your hands and cook a meal..BE CAREFUL You will not see the flame..

Unjohn, Thanks. That's a great idea. I just watched a couple of how to videos. 91 % rubbing alcohol. One roll of TP burns for 2 hours. I like it. I'm not sure I'll ever do it but thanks for the new/old tip.

Last night I made 32 face masks while watching TV. I'm going to have an interactive workshop for personalizing these in camp this year. (I know. I was planning to be a tourist and just party for the whole time. Plans change.) The foam and fur seats were a huge success but I can bring 1,000 or two facemasks and only 100 foam seats fit in the van. Plus it's more fun cutting and sewing facemasks than it is cutting foam and fur squares.

I didn't know such a thing existed.
