Hello all!
I am Bianca and I am from the Netherlands. I always thought it would be much too complicated to make the trip to Burning Man on my own. But now, with my partner we decided to go! Last year was a big disappointment because we couldn't get the tickets. Hopefully we will have enough luck this year. I am already reading a lot and there are so much things to take care of. Finding a plane ticket and an RV are the main concerns at this moment. I am so looking forward to join!!!
Finally I decided to join!

Welcome! We hosted a couple from the Netherlands last year. They came in on the Burner Express and we lent them camping gear. They visited several parks after in a rental car. No RV needed. You can make this happen, read the forums and get some ideas.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

You can do it without an RV! I have never once camped in one, and this year will be my 12th. If you think you could deal: Bring baby wipes (put a "ReFill"-size bag, per person, in an extra large ziploc or buy the smaller, re-sealable Huggies 3-packs of 72, per person) and/or a clean, new garden sprayer from Home Depot, or camp at a place with a shower. Most people at the Burn only take a few showers a week and scrub up as best they can, and the wind whisks away most of the sweat. And they add a little deodorant. I have met very few people who smell like anything but Awesome. Tent campers are not second-class citizens in Black Rock City.
I mean, I know RVs are quite nice in a number of ways, but it's expensive, hard to clean (be prepared to lose your cleaning deposit), and they're hard to book this "late" in the year. So if you wouldn't normally need one anywhere else, don't start now. But if you know you need one, well, it's not so bad to face that; know thyself.
If you want to get an RV, aim for cities beyond Reno or SF . . . try Vegas, Sacramento, Portland, etc.
Welcome!
