Hooray for Marco Cochrane and the Bliss Dance crew - I heard today that Bliss Dance is being brought to Vegas for a permanent installation on the west end of the strip.

ah ooooooooooooooo! yes, best to respect the beasts and keep them around.
whoop. mini Saturday. I like this new schedule with Wednesday off, it's like playing hooky in the middle of the week. I have a small foghorn to finish up and have promised myself to work on it today.

Re: The Bar 2016 Edition
Good morning bar, happy Friday! It's been a busy day for me so far, but a good one. Got plans made for a multi-regional summit campout in June, and I remembered to start the cook on a nice big hunk o corned beef. Good eating tonight with some great prospects for leftovers

*backs clumsily thru the door, carrying a cardboard box in each arm*
Look at this! A neighbor just came by in his work truck, which was full of boxes, buckets, and whatnot, all brand new Stuff. And he gave me 132 pairs of work gloves, plus some buckets and other goodies. His job today is to distribute these things to anyone who can use them. The stuff is left over from the massive recovery campaign after last September's wildfire. It is cheaper to give this stuff away to any willing takers, than to return it to the manufacturers, or to pay for storage space while the stuff is slowly used up. Everybody wins!
And I think I know of an occasion where "a few" extra pairs of work gloves might come in handy.

I've entered the maddening part of the day with the crockpot. You know, the second half of the day where the whole place smells so good you can't stand it, but there are still hours to go...

Re: The Bar 2016 Edition
Hi All .. Just back from a five day trip to Vienna and still fighting jet lag. Don't know if it is the jet lag from going or coming. My daughter took her old man (me) on this trip and it was great fun being with her. She was attending a scientific meeting at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) so during the day while she was working, I wandered around Vienna and in the evenings we went to some amazing concerts. One with the Vienna Philharmonic at the Music Verein was beyond beautiful. Never heard a performance with so rich and full sound. Could not believe what I was hearing. They started out with the Overture to the Flying Dutchman by Wagner and then La Mer by Dubussy. La Mer was the very first record I bought when I began my collection in college over 60 years ago. Beyond the amazing acoustics, the hall itself is a work of art. We also got to hear a wonderful chamber music concert and the opera Manon at the Opera House. Vienna simply exudes music with the heritage of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahams, Mahler and so many more in evidence where ever you go. Jet lag was a problem and it made me understand that this would be my last overseas trip. It was surely one I shall never forget. I so fully appreciated that I am one very lucky dude. Just had to share this with you all.
Anti M, you will feel better as time goes on My mom always said "This too shall pass" ((((Anti M)))) You too ((((MDF)))) FigJam hope you are doing better as well
So bloody many aches and pains of one sort or another. Aurelia, good luck with your ball growing. You really don't need them ... your great as you are!
So, here's to life and good times, seeing the glass half full rather than half empty. Life does have it's ups and downs
Better we start our days with cuddles in the NEB here in Da Bar. Only thing better is hugs up close and personal
La Chaim one and all

Sounds like being with your daughter, the concerts, and just wandering or around Vienna makes the jet lag worth it.

Have you considered traveling by ship? Cruise ships sometimes offer one way trips when they follow the seasons to different territories. And some freighters have a handful passenger cabins.magicmarty wrote:... ... Jet lag was a problem and it made me understand that this would be my last overseas trip. ...
I'm fairly fed up with 11 hour flights myself. If I ever have reason to go to Europe again, I will look into sailing there.
