Going to Cabo San Lucas; where do I stay???

Post by GRANTnNYC » Tue Nov 30, 2004 6:47 pm

I'm a going to Cabo San Lucas from Dec. 23 thur Dec 30th for the first time. I want to stay somewhere cool and burner style (cool hotel or grass hut). Any recommendations?
Me, I'm gay dude in my mid twenties....want to surf, chill, drink beer and eat fish tacos.

I have the answer for you...The Cabo Villas Resort..It is right on the beach, above the "office/Mango hut " (where everybody spends the day, great beach, awesome food...) The Villa's is very clean, first rate, on the roof they have the best resaurant in cabo, sure, you'll eat fish tacos morn, noon and night, but at least once during your stay the rooftop restaurant is the place to go. I had the cheese filled shrimp, wrapped in bacon, grilled then sauted in a citrus/tequila sauce, flippin awesome, plus the best view of the water and the neighborhoods...Sure the Mielia is ok, for a big giant hotel, Plaza las Glorias, is another ok, more of a common hotel...but the Villas is in the best spot, just take 20 steps to where everyone wants to be! I'm a cabo local, I know the area more than well....

Oh, forgot to tell ya, The villas has the BEST pool, a deep blue mosaic tile pool, slightly elevated right on the beach! It has a swim up bar with the grass roof and all....and there are places right there to rent moped/atv's pretty cheap and you can get around to check out the scenery. While there, I am sure you will visit the Squid Row, it is a crazy bar with great people watching opps, but what you want to do is go behind the Squd Row bar, in the alley, and there is a GREAT taco place, open all night, beers and all, just stumble from the bar to the taco joint...Yum!

Camp Name: one less art car
Location: Earth, but this address is comfortably seated in Portlandia, Oreganic

I'd recommend a little place called Todos Santos

about an hour north of Cabo and a very chill place. Artist colony. Cheap eats, nice beaches nearby, but not so close to town.
