Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
Use the IMG tag for pictures that live someplace on the internet (imgur, tumblr, etc) and make sure to include the whole address (starting with http...). That is still the preferred method for posting pics (since it doesn't take up any storage space), but uploading images as attachments has gotten a whole lot easier with this upgrade.

Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
The upgrade looks great Trilo!
I do have a couple of notes to mention. I use my smartphone for eplaya most of the time, and I noticed that, on mine anyway, when I go to the 'Active Topics' list, it is the OP and thread inception date that is listed but not the 'last post by' (most recent poster). However when I go to individual threads directly from the main menu it does in fact display the 'last post by' instead, which I find to be much more valuable given the choice. On a computer it seems to display both sets of information. Any chance 'Active Topics' could show the 'last post by' on smartphones?
I am also thinking that the avatars do seem a bit miniscule in proportion to everything else, at least on my smartphone display.
Either way, thanks again for all the hard work you and your crew have put in to make eplaya better than ever!

Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
I know the active topics display is different. It may change at some point in the future, but that's how it is for the foreseeable future.
In my opinion, avatars should be pretty miniscule when you're using a smartphone. It's worth pointing out that if you want to take a closer look, just tap on that picture and it'll take you to that person's profile... where you can see not only the larger profile pic but other profile and contact info.

Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
Did some of the background color and contrast come back or is that just me getting used to the site?
Either way, I'm diggin it. Great work!

Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
Thanks for your hard work here. I used to manage a forum many moons ago, so I realize all the fun you had doing this upgrade! Good for you!
It was a nice surprise when I checked on my phone today. Flows nicely and looks great on both devices (phone/PC). Love the header, fonts and colors. Countdown clock is a real bonus!

Oh yeah, the alternate post color scheme works really well. Thank you!

It's both, Jackass. You're getting used to it, plus we were able to darken up the font color as well as tweak the background in the discussion thread view so each post alternated (like it does in the topic view, and like they did in threads before the upgrade).

Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
I've installed an extension that gives us 'scroll to top' and 'scroll to bottom' buttons on the bottom right of the screen.
They should be big enough to be able to easily tap on even with a small phone display, but small enough to not get in the way of other content on the site.

Love that, it's the feature that will literally save me money, by not wearing a hole in my screen protector from repetitive scrolling!

I just noticed that my 'burning since' date says 2018. And I'm not the only one. (Bbadger and Lucky too).

Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
I imagine that's by your choice, and I think I've been seeing that on your profile since last year. We allow you to pick up to three years from the current year because some people start visiting here in the early stages of planning, but some people set it to a future year just to be silly and have fun... Or they weren't comfortable revealing the actual year so they junked their answer.

Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
Maybe it is there and I could not find it, but it would be useful to have a hotlink near the top of the page to http://www.burningman.org.
Maybe you could put it under the top banner bar, or you could put it on the quick links pulldown. Or implement it another way.

The new look is great and long overdue, nice job! Page load does seem a bit slower, but that could just be internet connection today.

Re: Site Upgrade & Feedback 2016
Thanks. The site now loads many times faster on a per-user basis, but there are a couple other things potentially impacting performance today (besides your connection). It is a heavy use day, plus we are also testing a chat feature, and I'm keeping an eye on performance and will try to adjust accordingly.

The Burning Man title/logo at the top of the page is now clickable, and takes you to the main site.

Chat feature made today better.
