People flew from as far away Chicago and NY just to see it. Was just amazing. 200+ people singing the lyrics word for word to every single song.

I also saw the full band back in '87 or '88 and I swear I have never seen a more passionate singer in my life. By the end of the set there was a puddle of sweat covering most of the stage. He made Bono look like tired.

Great band. Very cool people too.

Manomanomanoman!

I pulled out my old "Strange Days" album by The Chameleons and discovered two different versions of "Tears". Outstanding! Thanks, Tonytohono, for reminding me of a band I crave. The website link was also a welcome bonus. Aside the one mentioned, are there any other release by these guys that you recommend?

The first album was Up the down Escalator. Great album. Nowhere as big of a sound as the other albums though, but still great impact. The second LP was What does anything mean basically? That album is huge, but the songs are less song like and more epic... you know, kind of like concepts, long, drawn out with cello breaks and stuff. Great stuff. There is also the very first thing they did called Nostalgia/Less than Human/In Shreds EP. This thing was produced by Phil Thornally (of the cure) and Steve Lillywhite of the first three U2 albums. This EP in my opinion is one of the best fucking records ever released. It just kills me, it is so emotional. These guys in my opinion are one of the original EMO bands. There is also a couple of live albums floating out there, but the sound quality is pretty much bootleg at best. Great exchanging info MJFM .

Wire

Post by Mister Jellyfish Mister » Thu Nov 18, 2004 9:14 pm

I proclaim that Wire is/was the best band in the history of music.

First three albums: Pink Flag, Chairs Missing, 154.

I declare this to be true.

The radio, on which a pair of 11 year olds who have a band are being interviewed and demoing their music. Apparently their band is called "The Flying Dutchmen", but isn't spelled like that.

They aren't too bad.

Yeah, well tell that to Roland Tower. All teen males now have a God - even if they don't know it yet.

You know what's really great about this site are all the insane comments that Roland's mind-boggling accomplishment elicited. If there ever was someone who deserved to be comped to BM, it was that kid.
