Wow Capt. YOU have a secret? Dish! Come on. Spill it. We won't tell. (Like fun.)

I'm racking my tiny brain for ideas. Removable contact paper for the rugs? How about that plastic window covering that you put up in your house and then hit it with a hair dryer to shrink it? Nope? OK. Sticky fly strips to gather dust from the air? Oh hell, I give up. I have to run to work now. All your fault.

The purpose of a Figjam cooler, for me anyway, is not keeping the RV cool, but keeping a bit of moisture in the air. The exhaust opening will have a filter. For fine particles I take a regular fiberglass style A/C filter, then spray it with a sticky solution which does not dry out. It will catch most particulate matter without clogging up quickly.

I may go another route. Still testing.

Actually,....Captain gave me another idea......

The trick with the cooler is having a little positive pressure.

I ran my cooler during whiteouts last year without gaining extra dust, and I don't even have a screen on my window.

Open your exhaust just enough that you can FEEL the air exiting and it will keep the dust pushed out, while the wet pad in the cooler filters all the incoming air. 8)

If the wind picks up it'll overpower that tiny fan and dust the hell out of your rig.

Well, it is a moot point now. Went out to measure the RV and how much storage space it has. Something had to give and it is the cooler. You know a 26' RV is pretty small. Had to make a choice and the coolers are more important. I will not give up my ice cream. :)

Anyway, looking into a smallish humidifier, just for when we sleep. I might be able to solar power it with battery backup.

I want to thank everyone for the input provided. It goes a long way in keeping this anal lunatic from losing it. :)

Now, back to building stuff.....

I think "anal lunatic losing it" would be a fun bit of performance art on the playa ...
