Actually, no. You cannot drink Pine-Sol. At least not the current version, I think early versions of pine-sol were similar to retsina, but I think you'd have to be pretty far gone to drink it. That is beer in the bottle in the picture.buckethead alien wrote:Yippie! Bar's open!
Morning Sputternik, so, do know if you can really drink Pine Sol--I've been wondering.
It's going to be alright.

What does it take to clean a Pine Sol bottle enough to make it safe for filling with beer? This is an important question as my vintage corduroy Santa suit will be arriving any minute.Simply Joel wrote:children, do not try this trick at home.sputnik wrote:Actually, no. Rinsing it with water is the best bet. As I recall from my chemistry classes, a small amount of liquid a few times will remove more soluble chemical than one big rinse. Then let it air out in strong sunlight for a couple of days. Can't garauntee it won't make the beer taste a bit piney, but after a few it won't matter.buckethead alien wrote:What does it take to clean a Pine Sol bottle enough to make it safe for filling with beer? I usually go the Windex route (Windex bottle, Blue Saphirre gin and tonic, blue food coloring- looks exactly like Windex). To clean the bottle- hot water and dish soap, soak a day, white vinegar, soak a day, hot water and lemon juice, soak a day, hot water and a bunch of mint, soak a day. Repeat this until the smell is gone.sputnik wrote:Rinsing it with water is the best bet. As per the large volume vs. small volume, while it is true mutliple washing is better than one- the more solvent (in this case, water) per soluable item- the more is dissolved. Ergo, fill bottle, shake around, re-fill as needed.
