.... I answer to any of them. Another Birgin like many before and after me. I have been a silent observer for many years, watching vids, reading here and there. Always wanted to go but could never get my, wife of 25yrs, now Ex, on board. So this is the year to pop my cherry!

Like many posting before me I have read every virgin guide I could find. Downloaded many packing lists, using them all to make up my own. Joined many websites like this one, FB groups including my local AZBurners. Offered help on art car or theme camp, listing my skills and available tools, which are many. Haven't heard back from anyone yet. Missed tickets for their Saguaro Man event just like this years BM. I was kinda busy getting used to being a bachelor again. Watched more video than I care to admit. Noticing its harder to find ones I have not seen.

However I am preparing like I'm going because some how, some way I will get a ticket & VP. It's gotta happen, it needs to happen, I need a new start, a new outlook on life after split last fall. In some ways I think maybe karma has taken me to this point, this year, to be my Virgin burn.

I'm building my grey water evap unit this weekend. Putting together my day & night outfits, watching CL for a cheap ass bike I can 'prep'. I already have the lighting for it in hand. So it is going to be a long summer. Waiting, wondering if I will be able to get a ticket. Though the prep work will keep me occupied for awhile.

I tend to be an over planner/thinker. The goal being, prepare well and don't cause myself any undo work or pain during whatever I am over thinking & planning......

I see your call letters. Do bring radios? I have read a few threads were a group are trying to get setup on the local repeaters around BRC.
I'm not a Ham yet. I have run the gambit on CB (am/fm/ssb and bootleg 2m) back in the day. Repaired, modded, peaked, tweaked, mobile & base. Always crispy, crunchy and wall to wall, as it should be.

Yeah, there are a couple repeaters that are accessible out there. I bring 2 meter and 70cm radios with me and a few handhelds. There are several hams out here. I started with the CB radio back in the 70's when it was popular and did all the tweaking/modding bootlegging as well. Got my ticket when they dropped the code requirement. I didn't even have to study, I already knew all the stuff to get my tech license. I did have to study for my general ticket though but still wasn't that hard. If you have a CB, it wouldn't hurt to bring it. There will be lots of people there and on the GMRS/FRS frequencies as well.

I have to meet him personally, (maybe this summer some time we live so close) but I think I have my first Burner Friend.

Well it has been a busy summer! For others reading this in the future follow my other posts for all the fun I had between Apr and Aug. getting ready for my first burn. As this is the last weekend before BM and many are heading out starting this weekend & early next week, I wanted to post this up.

I want to thank everyone for their assistance in my prepping en devours. I haven't been this focused on something in quite a while. And I hope I helped out others with my input too. Now the end if prep is here and the execution begins. I just have some loose ends to attend to & perishables to load in the RMC. I am leaving Thursday next week. When I posted this back in April I didn't even know if I would get tickets and be able to go at all. Thanks to a few ePlaya members, now I am! It's a wonderful thing.

After all of the prep, the planning, the wondering, the doubt, the excitement........ We are ready to ride!!! See you in the Dust!!
