At home in the States I never eat that crap but in 2 1/2 months in Asia I probably had BK 5 or 6 times... Those times when I wanted a fucking cheeseburger and wanted to know that I was actually going to get one...
I got to participate in a lot of culinary delights in China. I had Peking Duck in Peking (ok, ok, Beijing Duck in Beijing), all kinds of neat dishes with lo mein and rice, but one thing that really puzzled me me was how they didn't know how to express their delights to us. My host took me to a local eatery, and ordered what he called 'snake' with my OK. (no problem - I've enjoyed rattler on a number of occasions. The kitchen came out with a large black coiled delight instead......EEL. It was mild, tender, and was perfect with rice. 5 hours later, I was scheduled to depart. At Beijing airport, what did they have? F'in Pizza Hut. II couldn't even read the menu....it was written in chicken tracks. But, uniquely Chinese, I had a Pacific Salmon and Octopus pizza. Tell 'em to serve THAT over here.

I avoided the McDonald's in Tianamen Square...almost sacreligious if not worse. I DID get into the Forbidden City to see it, though, and DID see the Great Wall of China. It was an amazing experience, but the smog sucked.
