I am pretty sure you connected a C6 to that 352, as the 352 was an FE block. It was a typo, right? The C4 was relegated to small blocks. Unless it was a 351, then ...well...never mind.ygmir wrote:nope, two piece. I kept the 292 in mine. I liked that engine except the distributor location, R. rear corner of the engine seemingly under the firewall. I did pull the engine out to rebuild it shortly after I got it. My dad got an intake manifold from a 58 T-Bird and a 4 barrel carburetor from a mid 70s Torino.ygmir wrote:I changed out the 292/2 spd auto for a 352/c-4,

At different times in my youth..
My first apartment was $60 a month.
There was no such thing as a home computer
The big innovation with phones was a long extension cord
Thrifty ice cream was 5, 10 and 15 cents for a single, double and triple
Movies were 25 cent
A theater in town was three movies for a dollar
We listened to music on our transistor radio
Calculators were the big new things and they were big and cost $50
Families went to Drive-in theaters together
8 tracks were the big new thing
Buses were a quarter
Porn was shown only in seedy theaters and people tried not to be seen going into them

When I started at my present job the minimum wage was $4.00. My rented condo was $300. (1977) Now minimum wage is $10.00 and a condo costs WAY over $1,000 a month. How do people make it with just 2 jobs?

Re: I'm so old I remember when...
My sister claims I'm 4 years older than dirt, but I only remember 24 of the 25. The names, Beanie and Cecil are familiar, but I've never seen them (or heard them if they were a radio thing). All the rest, I remember well.
In winter, if you didn't bring the milk in soon after it was delivered, it'd start to freeze, and pop the cardboard cap, and the cream on top would make a frozen cylinder coming straight up out of the bottle.
I have (here and now) two boxes of candy cigarettes. "Lucky Lights", with a horseshoe and a shamrock, and "Stallion" with two black horses. There are 3 Lucky Lights and 9 Stallions left in the boxes. But, dang! they're so hard to keep lit!
I loved the Blackjack gum! (but never could get to liking the wax bottles).

Beanie and Cecil (A Bob Clampett Cartooooooon!) was hands down my favorite cartoon as a kid. Maybe even as an adult, though Archer has a lot more nudity.

Nope.Thecatman wrote:The dirt turned into playa dust
The playa dust is multi-component - clay minerals, silt-sized quartz, and silt-sized calcite. It may also have some gypsum in it, but the older the playa dust, the less gypsum. The calcite itself is a fascinating story. Originally, it came from the tufa deposits on the shorelines of glacial Lake Lahontan. It all started out as aragonite or ikaite, and then it became calcite as the temperature increased from the Wisconsonian interglacial stage. I now have calcium isotope data that indicates it.

The Tennis ball cannon....that brings back memories.......use calcium carbide and water to create the vapor.....could shoot a tennis ball at least a hundred feet.
Then came the potato gun. Shoot the spud over the apartment building. Used 'Final Net' hairspray or something.
Today...a half cup of black powder and a case of coffee creamer. Creates a flame cloud 30 feet tall.
Pyromaniacs evolve into bigger things all the time.

Oh yeah, I had the surgical tubing and funnel water ballon launcher.
Extra weapons technology was to put duct tape in the bottom of the funnel. That better cushioned the ballon on launch, allowing more g force without breaking and spilling down the funnel opening.
I had mine on two metal poles stuck in the rear stake pocket holes in the back of my pickup truck, with one of those big silver fire extinguishers you filled with water and pressurized with compressed air to fill ammo, er, baloons. It was the ultimate portable rapid-load system.
