Light Diffusion Material Suggestions For LED Belt
Hello everyone!
I'm making my first piece of DIY light up clothing for this year and I need some recommendations, even some links to good resources would be great as my searching has returned less than helpful results.
I'm working on an LED belt and I'd like to cover the light strip I'm using with a material to diffuse the LEDs. The more diffusion the better but it doesn't have to be perfect.
It also needs to be moldable material, so diffusion fabric would work for example, or a bendable plastic if that exists. Anything I can work with easily, ideally without tools more complicated than a blow dryer although I'm open to heavier duty suggestions.
The LEDs will only be a centimeter or two away from the material so I understand that's a limitation.
Thanks for your help,

I'm a fav of hdpe, thanks Mr Jackass. Really fav and really thanks. Vellum would be similar.
There are many light-colored fabrics than can be layered over LED - sheers, organzas, just ask at the fabric store for suggests which meet your washability needs. Many burners layer LEDs under white synthetic fur fabric.
I'm a huge fan of fiber optic fabric, but that is a whole nother price, sewing and buying challenge.

After 4 LED suits, I've finally found the best LED light diffusion material. Flexible, opaque, stretchy, cheap, awesome.
Get the thickest white lycra/spandex you can find. Cut it to shape. Stretch it over. Voila.

Hey Junglesmacks. Glad to see you back. Where have you been hiding? Thanks for the spandex tip.

Wow, he is back! I had to check the date of the post to verify this wasn't some old thread!
