Re: Does your camp have a meal plan for ME?
Well OaklandPunk, since you wanna hurl insults with zero substance behind them, I also work for a BM department, I bring a time and labor intensive MV, I bring ALL my own food and infrastructure of every kind from twice as far away. That's why I think new guys like you who want to just show up and pay people to serve you don't quite understand how BM works. Even if you volunteer for some department. Anyone can do that.
Hurl insults at me anonymously behind a keyboard the way your kind does all day long if you want. Thats what people do when they've got no substance. I understand.
This event isn't really geared for what you appear to want.

the OP is a long time burner and has one of the most demanding jobs on playa. you can't slam someone for wanting to find a nice place where his wife can get a decent meal and some social time with good people. he's actually a pretty funny guy, though some may say otherwise...

New, relatively speaking.
It used to be this event worked on "Radical Self Reliance".
Just wanting to find a nice place where I can buy my wife a nice meal... that place is Las Vegas.

Re: Does your camp have a meal plan for ME?
agreed capt., but couldn't you also say that by seeking a camp that already offers a meal plan so his wife has a meal while he's working,,, self reliance. the term is relative to the discussion, don't you think.?. the event has grown rapidly to the point that the teams have a hard time keeping up with the staffing demand, forcing some to work 24hr shifts. the OP has found himself with that delema. could the OP have started the thread differently and maybe come off as more of a human,,, no, because like yourself captain, love you, like you or hate you, "you aint gonna change".

Re: Does your camp have a meal plan for ME?
Im going to assume the OP has left the building, but to make a philosophy discussion, I really don't consider that "self reliance". I get what you're saying about him covering his wife's ass (so to speak) by making arrangements for her... anywhere else I'd agree with you. Where I think it goes sideways is how the arrangements are being made.

If you can find the buffet under the "Want Big Sugary Buds?" banner, you should be o.k.
Misfit, the op is only looking for the only way his wife can get a meal? Really?
I am now just gloating in my new found awareness of how awesome I am, how unimaginably capable and strong, bringing and preparing my own food all these years, not chained to any set schedules or location, or other people's taste. I never knew how special that achievement was.

He's not looking for a camp. He is looking for a meal plan at a camp that will feed his wife. Cafeteria style, I guess?misfit wrote:...but couldn't you also say that by seeking a camp that already offers a meal plan so his wife has a meal while he's working,,, self reliance. ...

Re: Does your camp have a meal plan for ME?
Sorry, I edited the post above to say "and did not receive a response" at least to that particular question. I did receive several flamethrowers on some of my other comments though. I think the thing that got me going was just the IMMEDIATE negative track he took. I really didn't think the questions posed were that far out of line, and some simple explanations by the OP would have probably kept the conversation on the rails. But that's not what happened. So at that point, its on.lucky420 wrote:Dr Helix wrote:I posed that to the OP several posts ago and received a response.lucky420 wrote:jesuschrist, can she not make a goddamn sammich?

Bass heavy theme camps: Where do I find Jungle, DnB, Glitch, Dubstep
Allo, newbie burner here (if you don't count years of going to Flipside [TX regional] or NYC Decompressions). The camp I'm going with is awesome, but will not be playing the tunes my booty likes to move to most. I've seen a lot of haterism thrown at Dubstep in particular, but that's one of my favorite kinds of music (gag all ya want), along with Jungle/ Drum n bass, Glitch... You know, the "womp womp" bass heaviness. Can you tell me what camps I'll want to scope out to hear my preferences? I've heard some of the bassy spectrum is lacking on the playa. Of course, I'll have a great time regardless of the music I hear, but I also want to make my ears happy. Any Junglists in the house? Or, you are welcome to tell me which camp you hated, or which ones you have to avoid (cuz they played my type of music)... No need to respond if you're not familiar with subgenres of electronic music: I'm not looking for House, EDM, or Trap, only what I've listed above. Thanks in advance! I look forward to meeting you. -from a junglist

as i stated, I never been there. But I've been told bass music is rare out there, and that there's almost nuthin but house, EDM, and Balkan... If it's as easy to find as you suggest, I'll be a happy camper.

Re: Bass heavy theme camps: Where do I find Jungle, DnB, Glitch, Dubstep
You might have to cruise a bit to find music you like best, but they play it LOUD, really loud.
The big-sound camps are confined to the 10:00 and 2:00 ends of BRC, so it doesn't take too much cruising to hear what's available.
You may not find your exact sub-genre. But you'll hear bass in BRC like you've never heard elsewhere. These people are insanely over the top with the level of gear they bring.
So, you'll hear it, if it's there.
