Looking for a wing/wo/man
Looking for a wing/wo/man
Hi
team TDS is taking applications for an opening we have to work on our project. We're located in NYC area and would like to find someone who's able to contribute both, time and resources to the project. We are group of 5 people. 3 of us are a few time burners and 2 ppl are burgins. It does sound a lot more serious on paper but we just looking for the right person!

HUH? Project? Do tell. Resources? You mean like cash or plywood? Spell it out Dusty.

So far everyone pledged to contribute 2 to 2500 Gs and bucket load of man hours. Have other ideas or thoughts?! Let's hear it!
Re: Looking for a wing/wo/man
What is you want to accomplish? What is your goal?
Re: Looking for a wing/wo/man
The goal is to bring TDS "the dust sucka" to the playa and have fun while building it. It's a brand new experience for all of us.

Dusty, your vague responses are next to worthless. All they do is make people think that you don't have your shit together for this project. In this thread so far, all we know is that you have some weakly detailed pictures and drawings of a vacuum cleaner-like MV with no measurements, material lists, or other details.
Detail the specific things you're trying to get done on your project, the status of each, the resources available to spend, etc.
Otherwise, potential volunteers don't know if::

- You just want some bitches to do menial gruntwork.
- This is a poorly planned and (un)executed project that needs to be bailed out.
- You (don't) have people that can cover important, and necessary skills for some projects like engine repair, or welding, or lighting.
- Whether you have any funding, space, resources, or anything else besides that picture on the top of the post.

Re: Looking for a wing/wo/man
People like BBadger are definitely NOT invited due to their ill attitude and destructive approach. Everyone else, please contact me and I'll be happy to discuss. At this point the bus is in the shop - we're changing water pump, breakes, radiator, and few other minor things to avoid "surprises" on the playa. We're planning to move it to the assembly spot on Wednesday!

Re: Looking for a wing/wo/man
BBadger was a little abrasive maybe, but really you've given nothing to go on except you're looking for someone to cough up $2500 & labor for your mutant vehicle.
I'm sure there's more to it, you just haven't said more.
Oh and by the way, if anyone on the opposite coast wants to spend $2500 & labor on my MV....

It will be impossible to put everything in writing here. And even if we do, it won't guarantee that we'll find the right fit anyway. We're looking for a person and not a bankroller or workforce. Ultimately we would like to meet the individual in person, discuss and see how it goes from there. Anyone interested can PM me for my phone #.

First came the flying carpet MVs, then a few years ago people started building vacuum cleaner MVs... It does make perfect sense!

"Oh hey, we can't fit all the details in here, so instead, we'll just post none at all instead!"
Do you write resumes like this too?
"I believe your resume must've gotten damaged when you emailed it to us. Do you have a paper copy?"
"Sure, here you go!"
"Let's see.... huh, this is the same thing. It just has your name, a couple names of other people, and a small blurry picture made of clip-art of a Zamboni...?"
"Well I can't fit my whole life story on a two-sided sheet of paper right!?"
"You could, uh, put the details about why you're qualified to work here, or at least why you're interested...?"
<Hands the interviewer a photo of himself smiling in front of a bus.>
"Uh, yep, that's great. I think we've seen all we need to see here. We'll call you if we have any questions.

Re: Looking for a wing/wo/man
I think they sold the bus to an ice skating rink to be converted to use as a Zamboni.
Stay hydrated my friend.
