So interesting series of links here:
1.)

This is a 2014 breakdown of the STEP program after it closed, where the Burning Man Org. said that "over 2,500" tickets were sold through STEP that year and little else.
That lead to:
2.)
This 2014 Reddit thread where someone said that if you actually drill into the Census data for that, they sold 2,573 tickets - HOWEVER - 2,500 of them were released by the BMO themselves and are not actually being resold. So only 73 tickets were actually resold.
3.)
This is a 2012 Reddit thread where some guy tracked posts here on ePlaya and on Reddit and was able to get the cohorts for different times of ticket sales. He found that there were only about 71 people who registered within the first minute, although I am guessing today in 2016 that there are probably 3 or 4 times that.
However, looking at the trickle of tickets around the internet, it seems like maybe the Org isn't releasing new tickets at the rate that they were before? A lot of older posts are telling people to "wait for July" a lot - which makes me think that they do a dump at some point? However, post 3 makes it look like they dole them out as they go. Here's hoping.
