Bonjour ^_^
First burn this year!
Looking for friends, perhaps a camp, travelmates.
French gay guy here that loves traveling, actually just back from a month in Singapore and Bali. I get along easily with most people, made friends in a lot of countries.
Just back from the 2016 french burning week-end (hi guys), it was awesome. I loved the atmosphere, the energy, the engaging people I met there, really nice. My education was centered on technical stuff (that I do love) which is perhaps like so much artists, especially musicians and street art guys. I am sadly awful at art myself although I like taking pictures (not really good, to me).
2016 will be my first San-Francisco burn. I wanted to go for a long time and was always pushing back for various reasons thus I am super excited and feel very lucky to get a ticket (vehicle pass too). Lot of researching to be self-reliant enough. I love being into the action hence I will do some volunteering on the playa.
On top of that I am also eager to be in SF again. I have fond memories of Meeting of Style (2015), Folsom Street Fair, Mission district… such a brilliant culture there.
I will fly in San-Francisco around August 24th (sf friends to visit) and fly back (sniff) around September 8th. I plan to rent a RV but can cancel it if needed. I should have 2 or 3 places to share in the RV if I keep that option.
What I will bring:
- Smiles!
- Handy with tools and basic mechanics, electricity, soldering… I love doing manual labor.
- Social warmth
- Deep strong french accent!
- Space in the RV, can rideshare
- French candies and booze
- Computer savviness but who cares for that?
- Hardworking if needed, usually strong and resistant
- Open-mindedness
- Excitement!
See you in the playa mates!
Hello from france!
Re: Hello from france!
chansakuy Welcome to eplaya. If you haven't already rented your RV it may be tough to find one (reasonably priced). If you end up dong that, put your listing on the ride share board to pick up some travel companions. See you there.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Holy Toledo!!!
RV rental rates are rightly ludicrous! No way I am paying that much, it will be a rental car and a tent. I like tents anyways

You'll be fine then! Half the city sleeps in tents anyway. RV's are so pricey, and murder to clean.Chansakuy wrote:Holy Toledo!!!

(Try to have shade over your tent--or adjacent to it--as it's warm out by 8am.)
. . . I love to think of a french accent saying "Holy Toledo!"
Welcome!

Welcome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.
